Hi Guys,
does anyone know if a speedo assy off an ABS 1600 will fit a non-ABS model? I suspect that it would, the ABS may have an extra connection pin or two but the plugs would probably be the same - wouldn't they?. Any ideas?

it will work fine (I did it as a temporary fix once) but you will have a ABS error light on constantly. you can learn to ignore that.
the plug is the same

I know this is an old post but mine just started to stick (2011) and I bought a new one off of a 2014 with only 8 miles difference. Mine is a non ABS part #2501560 and the new one is an ABS model part #2501565. Did it end up working for you? If so were you able to figure out a way to "kill the light?"

Remove or disconnect the light bulb?

Its a surface mount LED. Im a component electrician by trade and took my old one apart, the problem is the main unit is soldered in and pinned through both boards with conformal coating on it which would be fairly difficult to remove. I just wasnt sure if anyone found a quick fix to bypass the light. I tried to find schematics for the speedo, but Triumph keeps those hidden somegggwhere I guess. It sits about 1 1/2" down in a plastic housing so Ill just fill it with RTV black so the light cant shine through.
