| Posted : 12 May 2010 - 04:22 Post title : Long Haul tour seat | | I got a great deal on a new long haul touring seat. I have question for anyone with this seat installed. I did it but what a pain getting to the rear fender bolt! how did any one get to it? I finally used a small bend hex wrench and once carefully started did about 20 1/4 to 1/2 turns to get it set. Seat looks to be comfortable but very poor design access. Comments??

I find it easier to to start the bolt by hand and then i have a ball end hex key to tighten. I can swap and change in seconds. Put the stud through the mount hole in the bracket first then lower it onto the fender. Hope this helps or you find a better way.

The fitment is very straight forward 3 bolts, but the rear fender bolt access is buried under the seat foam. I will try with a ball & hex key to see if that helps. Thanks all for the responses.

Same problem here. I had to tightly squeeze the back end of the seat with one hand in order to get a small hex wrench to properly engage. Many turns later it was on. Had to leave off one of the side fitments and then tighten it last, in order to get the back to line up correctly. Not a seat for me to take on/off regularly.

Had same problem, had to only half tighten the other 2 then get someone to put some downward pressure on the seat while i used the allen key to get the back sucker in then went back and tightened up the other 2.

I will be using a ball-end hex for removal next time so I can get it at an angle otherwise I fear ripping into the seat with a standard allen head.

the seat was manufactured in spain. wondering if they all are made there

None of the Triumph accessories I've gotten came with instructions. Had to go here to get them: Link
