Really got close to buying the 1700 BUT can't seem to get any insurance cover.
They all say the bike isn't on the UK insurance register.
Anyone in the UK have any information that might help?

As the 1700 doesn't appear to be on the books yet they used what they consider to be an equivalent bike, which was the Kawasaki vn1700

So i wonder if there is much difference between the 1600 and 1700. If there is a considerable difference, that could be a good argument for buying a 1600 and having the BB installed in order to get 1600 rate. Anyone looked into this? I wonder if any regions/countries/states have laws that require shops to report engine size changes to insurance companies or DMV?

| | Posted : 05 May 2010 - 00:51 Post title : Re: UK insurance 1700 (Re: neilf) | | | I used e bike insurance , selected the 1600 then added 100cc piston upgrade from there modifications list, that was the only way I could get mine covered however mine was an upgraded bike, perhaps Triumph have not listed the factory 1700 as a separate bike, you may have to do what I did .

I still haven't informed my Insurance Pirate that I have the BB-Kit installed!
