I've purchased these for my 2013 Storm, problem is the front ones have way to much play on them, rear ones fit perfectly I've made a plastic ring to make up for it.........anyone else have this problem?

I found that I had to mount the Kuryakyn 8840 peg adapters 180 degrees out of phase between the left and right sides for them to sit level on both sides. The 8840 peg adapters have a little lip on one side, presumably to act as a stop but as far as I can tell, they're completely unnecessary and don't serve any purpose on the TBird. On the right side with the lip facing down, the adapter woudn't sit flush with the TBird's peg bracket (it was angled up a few degrees) because the radius of the adapter lip wasn't clearing the edge of the peg bracket. I flipped the adapter over and all was well.

Link Before I put in another order with FastEddy

I haven't used the Switchblades but the Kury stirrups look a lot sturdier. The advantage of the Switchblades is that since they're part of the peg, there's no rotation issue to deal with so they're easier to mount. On the other hand, you can't adjust the angle of the heel rest independently of the peg and I have read of an incident where the Switchblades folded up in use.
I put the Dually/stirrup combo on my previous bike and really liked it. The rotation issue is a real PITA but it can be fixed.

I solved the rotation issue within the first 2 days; each time they rotated a little, I stopped and tightened them some - eventually they stopped rotating. Yet I could get them on and off easily. I considered it a "break in" process.

There were some peg adapters that were a touch shallow and the bolt that ran through the peg and stirrup into the adapter would bottom out, preventing the whole assembly from being tightened as much as needed. Hacking a few mm off of the bolt solved that problem.
The peg and stirrup combo was a great idea poorly engineered by Kuryakyn. The support guy I spoke to offered no excuses; you could tell they were embarrassed by it.

Hey PapaSmurf, did you gain or lose any ground clearance (peg scraping) with the new pegs and stirrups ???

The Dually/stirrup combo is a little longer than the stock peg so maybe that means a tiny loss but the underside of the Dually is a clean 11 inches off the ground and the stirrup is only 1 inch lower (but in 4 inches closer to the bike so the tip would still hit first). The Bird's a little large to be dragging a knee but there's plenty of clearance.

Thanks for that, i'm just over scraping my pegs and my boots every second corner and am looking for some options.... I'm replacing the rear shocks this week and going 10mm longer than stock, hope that helps a bit....
Not concerned about dragging my knee, the sliders hold up nicely When life throws you a curve, you may as well lean into and get your knee down
