I am hoping someone here has a reasonable solution to this question. All my riding buds have either Harleys or Goldwings with built in CB radios and use headsets to talk to each other. I would like to be able to have that ability also, but I have neither the space for an add on CB radio nor the desire in this age of electronics. Does anyone know of an alternative blue tooth device or really small CB that I could adapt to my Thunderbird so that I could also join the discussions while traveling? I already tried the folks at Cardo Systems, and their radios will not communicate with CB's. Thanks for any info.

Go on line and check out J@M Electronics/Audio Systems. They should be able to set you up with a two way communications system that WILL fit your needs and your bike.We used them for all our audio needs on another MC website. So check em out. Dave!!!

Jabra makes an A210 analong to bluetooth adaptor that should work but with tons of static if you talk but you can listen. It's expensive but I have a Goldwing friend who tried it.

Amazing how long CB radio has held up and is still being used.

Me and a couple of riding mates use SENA gear...the bluetooth has a good range and you can also add pocket UHF or VHF's, as well as the iphone for GPS/directions and streaming music.... probably available in the US as I think they're world-wide...
Good updates to the software keep coming up on email once you're registered as well.....

Colin Chapman once said: "If you add horsepower you'll be quick on the straight,...but if you remove weight you'll be quicker everywhere.." ....so why in hell did I buy a Thunderbird...!!!

Essbjay is on track, SENA seems to have a lot to offer. Dealers all over the U.S.: Link
Problem is going to be CB radio frequencies and getting on whatever band they're using (26-27 MHz range Link ) and while you can go bluetooth to a transceiver you'll still need a transceiver. Found a handlebar mount unit Link discussed on SENA's support pages.

You're lucky - most of the guys I ride with have nothing to say that I'd wanna hear ;-)

Thanks for the help and info. I have talked with the Sena people, and as much as I would like to use their unit, it would not do what I want to do concerning my riding buds. They told me that their units use "private" frequencies while the CB is open to the public, and they therefore do not match up at any frequency because there is no common frequency. So, I just might look at getting a mini handheld CB and mount on the handlebars and run a headset on my helmet. Short of that I cannot find anything else that will work.
