Ordered a new rear tire thru my favorite shop, Two Gunners Custom Iron in Nevada County, CA and couldn't help laughing when I saw it on the rack there with the usual Harley offerings. Holy cow, whatta monster!

Had a few miles left on the Metzler (hard to tell since I've yet to see a wear bar) and was off for a ride down PCH. Unfortunately, the new Avon didn't show up in time, wound up with yet another Metzler - best I could do at last minute - so my friend Craig plans to sell this beast on eBay. If anybody's interested, I'll post a link when he does. This'll be my next tire for sure when the Metzler wears out, probably by spring.

Rating and size is correct, it actually has wear bars and seems a bit thicker that the Metz.

The storm gave me the lowest mileage so far. 5200 and it was past the wear bars and starting to show the plies. You're better off with metzeler if my experience is any indication.

This isn't a Storm or the Cobra, and I'm not sure it's been around long enough to prove itself one way or the other.
Tread pattern (or lack of same) all look about the same to me, difference must be in the compound, and I think this is the dual type (not sure).
Avon's own specs indicate the Storm has a slightly deeper tread than this one, but compound might mean more than depth, dunno.
Link = Avon AV80 3D Ultra Sport. (Avon recommends the Storm 2 Ultra for the T-Bird.)

It has a W rating (168 mph) but having said that, I see the Metzeler has apparently lost its Z rating and is now listed at many vendors as a W rated tire, too (if I read these freakin' ratings right).

I seldom go over 150 myself..... ;-)
