sunny, i have debaffled stockers but i had the shorties for a while and they sound good with the cat in place if you like a quiet bike with sound only when your on the throttle but when i went cat-less they were to raspy for my taste.

thanks for that
today the project has begun..
prototype will be approx 130mm shorter than stock.. was going to be 150mm shorter but I felt the extra length will be just fine.
I hope tomorrow stage one will be complete and the pipes (in the raw) will be on the bike for a sound check.

stage one with the cat.
stage two without the cat and a H pipe installed.

both types will be released to the market but the sound for both need to be right.

the pipes will be like the stock pipes but shorter.

what do you think about side slash cuts?

any more ideas out there?

sunny, i like slash-cut top to bottom just like the stockers and if i were building these pipes i would long slot the mount in order to have the ability to lower the back of the pipe to allow for bigger bags if one so desired. any idea of the cost yet?

thanks for your input.
yep, these will be like the stock with slash cut top to bottom.

not sure of the cost as yet but I can also guarantee the final cost being very much cheaper than the foran razorbacks.

I'm a perfectionist and the guy creating the pipes is a perfectionist engineer.

I will NOT allow the farting sound to be released out of the pipes. (if you know wot I mean) hehe

I am searching for the perfect note .. lets see what happens

I'll keep everyone posted with the outcome and a vid through all the stages..

I agree, but the end can either be black or polished...

I would do side slash if both pipes would sit on top of each other cause that looks cool..

but it will be slash from top to bottom..

well stage one should have been completed last week
the builder went on a fishing adventure and by golly he needed a break and he decided to keep fishing and I would to as he went to north QLD..
if he's back by the weekend, we should have it all installed sometime during next week.

I will upload a vid once its done even if it pops and farts.

everyone tells me that it will and I find it hard to accept.

if the sound is right then I will be happy..

Trust me, it'll pop. Pipes aren't going to cause it to go one way or another, it's the tune that causes or suppresses popping. I've had a ton of popping and hardly any, and it was all based on the tune.

I agrre with Daz as I had the aftermarket exhaust tune and it popped. Fitted the PCV hardly any pop or no popping. The engine was smoother as well. Greg
