Moving on to a R1200GS BMW as this bike is not so hot for dirt roads and back woods where a lot of my friends seem to live. Will take first $7500 and sitting firm on this really low price. Can help with USA shipping or delivery in Florida or GA.

This bike has been kept spotless and well maintained by mechanic owner. Oil changes at 600, 3000 and 6000. New brake fluid, pads, rear bearing inspected at tire change. It's ready to go to new owner and needs nothing.

The bike has 8100 miles with new Metzler 880's at 7500 miles

Features

•Matt1600 adjusters on rear wheel
• shiny front and rear wheels
• new brake pads
• 22.5" Cee Bailey windscreen on Triumph Quick release bracket
• factory quick release back rest/rack
• auxillary driving lights with switch
• chrome upgraded mirrors
• front and rear floorboards with optional heel shifter
• Hardstreets slimbags on Easy brackets
• clutch cover that says Thunderbird
• locking gas cap
• front engine guard
• saddlebag guard
• hard copy of official service manual

Can't believe how cheap that bike is. There is not one TBird for sale in UK anywhere near that. If I was in the states I would have two.

I was getting scared as I had it on eBay, Craigslist and Cycletrader for a month and did not get one offer or call. Luckily I was able to trade it in. Not one inquiry from this forum as well and I was thinking I was offfering it at a good price. Good luck to those who want to sell their Thunderbirds. I don't miss my SE one single bit.

Hmmm, pretty sure in the below thread you said you were keeping the Bird, might be why no one contacted you

No, that was a very recent decision. I had the original Craigslist post in South Florida at the end of July. The local Triumph dealer offered me 6000 trade on a new Ducati and that really pissed me off so I did get one offer. I bumped the ad every few days. My eBay ad ran for 9 days with a zillion hits but not one offer. Might be the time of year here as there is a thunderstorm every few hours, 102 degrees in the shade and the worst traffic in the USA and it's not even tourist season. . Just hanging out here for a bit. If it weighed about 600 lbs I would have loved to have kept it.

I have a question Fishy!!

The mounts for your bags shown in one of your pictures with that bag off: Are those the factory mounts for the leather bags that came on the bike,or did those come with the hard bags??? Thank you sir! Dave!!!

Hey Dave,

The mounts are the supplied ones for the Easy Brackets. I do not have anything good to say about the Triumph soft leather bags. I went through 3 on warranty. Sold the 3rd on eBay for next to nothing as everyone knows what hunks of crap they are. Also went through 2 windscreens cracking but then I may have gone too fast Finally 3 years later got my credit for the 2nd broken one. In all for a new bike design it did very well. Tire life on my new bike will most likely be 6-10,000 miles for rear so that is just the price you pay for riding.

My friend Mike from Tennessee (from the BA.com site) said he contacted you after I told him abouit your bike. He said you told him you weren't selling it. What's up with that? Sounds kind of Fishy.

I asked the wife about it but she said it was too heavy for her she's ridden mine and loves the ride and power. It's a shame, that' a hell of a price.

I got 8250 in trade after making a sweet deal on a new bike.

British Airways site?? ba.com.

Fishy is a salvage title . Now that it's gone I'm getting all sorts of offers and whining. The same bike is at a dealer so anyone can buy it there. It is a perfect bike. Needs nothing at all. Streits in Gainesville is where to go now, ask for Mike Jones. You wife will love it.

Thank you sir for that info on the hardware for those bags. And you are quite correct regarding Triumph's bags.Plain and simple, they ain't makin it.They don't have a good seal AT ALL,let water and debris in, and still have the caved in tops. But they'll go alittle longer til I'm ready to invest in a set like yours. Thanks again Fishy and enjoy your new ride! Dave!!!

Darnit Fishy... I live in Palm Coast and just bought a T-Bird, 2010 for 2K more... I looked for a couple of weeks in all the places you advertised so I must have missed you by a couple of weeks. Good luck with the BMW. I love my new 'Bird though...

Good luck with your new bike. The GS deal fell apart luckily and I picked up a Triumph Tiger 1200 instead, luckily for me.

So Fishy lemme ask ya... is the weight the only reason you wanted a different bike? I really like the red color and I am contemplating going to Gainsville and seeing if I can make a trade for my black '10 Bird. It is not an SE but it has about the same mileage and I have some upgrades (sissy bar, dual longhaul seat, windscreen) including the hi flow TORS.

Yep. Lightweight is not a feature with this bike. It was too damn heavy for me. Even getting it off the kickstand

Streits in Gainesville did give me a very fair trade and a great deal on my new Triumph
