I asked the question and got this back on March 26th:

Sorry for late reply. T-Sirts should be shipped end of next week sometime as Bedouin who has undertaken all this has been away for awhile.

They have actually been printed and were in the process of the packages being labeled when he disappeared.

Thank you for your patience.

Boomer.

The thread about it seems to be gone, so i suppose they decided against it. I'm ok with that, as it must have been expensive. Just kinda odd how it never happened and the thread went poof after all the talk. I'm just curious tho as to what happened.

I heard from Bedouin about 2 weeks ago that said he was on the road. He also said that all the shirts were done and were being boxed up and that once he was back in town they would begin labeling. Now he didn't tell me to share (or not share) this information and normally I wouldn't but I just wanted to head off any frustration that might be brewing about the shirts.

I'm sure that schedules are just conflicting and with Bedouin on the road so much (if ever there was a fitting user name) it's easy for things to slip. Hopefully he'll be on soon and let us know what's up ... and of course to show off some more pictures from his latest ride.

*** Oh, and if I was a betting man, I'd put money on the reason the tshirt thread is gone is because they wanted to keep from having a rolling target on the number and sizes of shirts needed. They extended the deadline a number of times, the best way to lock it down was to drop that thread. But that's just my guess.

Not at all Daz, the thread was released because the offer ended after several extensions (Thatch is right).

Sorry for late reply guys, I am occasionally popping back to base and had nearly dispatched all shirts early last week but when labeling and packaging, we noticed a size mismatch on about half of the white version (there are 2 t-shirts apiece, remember) and I certainly don't want to do two rounds of dispatching (to the same recipients).
So, I am waiting on second batch of whites to come in and whenever that coincides with my traveling schedules, to package, label and send them all.
No mystery.

Again sorry for late update and possible frustration, I will put up a post on the very day they are sent.

A most magnanimous offer Bedouin, I know you have put a great deal of thought and hard work into this project, I think I'll give you a pass on a few bumps in the road!

Nice...looking forward to it. But on a side note, won't this thread turn into another "me too" thread?

methinks that's why it went quiet.

You've gotta draw a line in the sand somewhere, eh!

Thank you though to Bedouin and Boomer.

You just might be right there mate!
It was a staggering 1 - I repeate - ONE degrees C this morning!

That would be something like 33.8 F for you on the other side of the planet....

That's too cold to get up in the mornings! Rather stay in bed until July!

You guys ride a lot colder than I do too. I won't even get on the bike for any reason till it's at least 60F. And then it's usually a ride to work only in anticipation of enjoying the ride home. I'm a CWW....cold weather wuss.

I'd never get to ride then. We have such broad temp swings here... It was in the 40's this morning and will be 80 by quiting time. (of course I'll be working late so it will be back in the 60's by the time I get out of here)

50's is actually my favorite riding weather. I can wear all the right gear and be nice and cool still. Above 80 and I get to that point of having to look at putting on the perf jacket and vented gloves... which is fine, but make the wrong call on which gear to wear and it can be a mite unpleasant.

I have the same issue when i want to go for a long ride. If i start early enough i have to wear cold weather gear. Then 1/2 way thru the ride i'm cooking. Don't want bags, so thats no solution. But this is why i like summer weather....mornings are warm enough to use the same gear as i'd have at high noon. So i can leave at 8 am and have enough time for a day long ride and not be too clod or hot at any point. Summer is where i do 95% of my riding. Got the bird at the beginning of july and put 6k on it by the time fall began and since have put on well under 1k ! Thats ok tho.....i want this bike to stay like new till i step into the pine box, which shouldn't be too long a wait.

I have a mesh jacket with a removable liner. Liner in the morning, no liner after that. A tool bag on the front would be plenty big enough for a couple of tools and the liner.

Probably need a better mesh jacket for that. I've got the same thing but I don't like the jacket with the liner in so usually I skip it all together. Typically t his time of year I wear a polartec fleece under my Hawk jackets in the morning with my cool weather gloves then ditch the fleece and the gloves (replaced with summer gloves) in the afternoon. Now that it's getting up to the mid 80's from the low 40's in the morning I need to go from my cold weather gear all the way to my warm weather gear in a single day which typically calls for a change of jackets (I have the older version of the hawk jacket that has no venting of any kind). That's where it gets tough. That hawk jacket isn't going to easily stuff in a full size saddlebag, much less a toll bag or even my backpack.

Ah the trials of riding.
