This is Part One of my comparison of the TOR Long pipes and the British Customs Hog Slayers. Part One is simply the TORs.

I used three cameras, a separate audio recorder, and a (primitive) decibel level meter in the video. The audio is uncompressed, and was setup approximately 10 feet directly behind the bike. One camera shows the tachometer, while another shows the audio recorder and decibel meter. The third camera shows the overall process, so you can tell that I am not "faking" any of the test.

I will repeat the exact same setup on the same bike as soon as I get the new Hog Slayers installed. (Saturday.) This should give a very clear comparison between the two. Unfortunately, I did NOT get a sound sample with the stock pipes. But they were so quiet, there would be nothing to hear anyway! :-)

I'll post Part Two as soon as I can get it recorded.

Cheers!

Jim

Nice job with that. That's exactly how they sound - nice. Why are you switching them out?

Awesome! Looking forward to the comparison. I have the same bike with stock pipes. I haven't gotten used to the "sewing machine" sound at idle.

Tip: for the above link to work (i.e. be clickable), remove the "s" from the https:// . The target website usually redirects to the secure https site anyways.

I am switching to the Hog Slayers simply because I like the lower, more gutteral sound of the HS. The TOR have a great sound once they warm up, but it still is a higher pitch than the HS. I don't anticipate much more sound volume, just a richer sound. I'll know for zure on Saturday!

Cheers!

Jim

I have the long TOR's on my '10 Thunderbird, but they sound louder than those on the video. Maybe because I removed the catalytic converter too. I'm interested in hearing/seeing the hogslayers in comparison.

I live next door in McKinney. Would love to hear them in person sometime.

Great recording setup. Put on my headphones for the full effect. Sounds great Jim!
