Hi, Guys.

I have just fitted OEM leather panniers for an upcoming trip to Ireland. Now if any of you know Ireland you'll know that it's very green much of which is due to the level of rainfall it enjoys.

I'd like to try to keep the contents of the panniers dry and dont want to go down the 'inner bag' route, so does anyone know of any slip over waterproof covers that I can use to cover the pannier if it rains? I used to have some soft luggage made by Oxford and they came with exactly what I'm thinking of.

I've tried googling etc but haven't found anything suitable.

Just get what we ( in Oz) call " Jimoen Travel bags".

i.e. A couple of supermarket grocery disposable bags and put everything in them and shove em in the Saddle Bags, cheap as chips and millions of em around everywhere.

Truly it's a good cheap solution.

Try Oxford. They do pannier elasticated rain covers.

Enjoy the rain. Looks like we have the stuff all the way down to Switzerland on Friday

If it was just me then that's the route I would have gone, mind you if it was me I'd have saved ??1500 and not bought the panniers, removable brackets, 2x touring seats, rack, sissy bar and backrest and just stuck with the single seat.

However, the girlfriend needed something more comfy and somewhere to keep her hair straighteners...........

Too much grief with anything less than a Harrods grocery bag and I'm not opening that particular door!

King Of Fleece made some for me to test out and I put them to the test finally last weekend of June on a Rally trip we got deluged so much so all rain gear failed, but the stuff in my bags stayed dry. Same proprietary material as the Seat covers whic totally protects the seats..., NOt water resistant but waterproof!

So Eddy,

When will you (or King of Fleece) have these available for sale? I have the factory leather panniers and would like to keep my stuff dry on our upcoming trip.

Thanx...

They are a special order product. Book the purchase with eddy and I'll make 'em for you. It takes a while as we need to change over a machine and don't do that all the time so get the order in if you want some.
