What is the value of adding a K&N air filter to a 2013 Triumph Storm? Is there an increase/decrease in performance? Is a new tune needed? Any (physical) modifications to the bike needed? Is it REALLY the last air filter I am going to need? How often do they need to be replaced? (Or do I just clean it?)

I know these are very basic questions, but I have never used these filters and want to know if I should invest in them.

Cheers!

High flow filter alone will not increase performance (noticeably). But combined with freed up exhaust (new silencers, cat elimination or bypass, etc.) it can help. If you do exhaust, you need to look at tunes. It's a cheap mod, and over the long run, either the K&N or the Uni filters are washable, and therefore indefinite.

Don't forget to introduce yourself in the New Member section. Since you haven't taken your entry lashings yet.

Thanks for the info. I'll take those newbie lashings as soon as I can find a "new members" section! :-) It's just not showing up in my browser.
