"i haven't checked the MPG before or after but will check this week and report back."

However, I haven't ridden the bike in two weeks as I am in the midst of a home remodel project My "honey do" list got expanded to a new laundry room and I'm missing some killer good riding weather. I promise to check MPG next weekend and post it.

I don't want to lose to much fuel economy, not for the cost but for the distance out of the tank. I've got one of those lists too, it's massive, I've been putting it off but now that retirement is within sight I am running out of excuses.

The finish looks a bit agricultural, but I like the compound angles. When I made a jig off the cat the 45deg elbows didn't line up exactly and the angle of the left pipe didnt appear exactly the same as the right.
Anyway its another option, if anyone is interested. Pete

I had the guys at Fastfit Mufflers Cranbourne jig me up a set of bypass pipes that include a mounting point to the frame, so no issues with movement. They are also painted with exhaust paint to prevent corrosion.
They jigged up a second pair to use as a template so they can make them up without having a bike there.
My only concern is that I don't think they will post them anywhere.
Anyway give them a buzz if you are interested.

He gets $300 for a full re-map every 250 RPMs and he loved the sound of my bike. He said no need to purchase a power commander just bring my tune ECU cable with me and he can use that. Link Link

What kind of results and power gains have you seen with the device? I am not a welder so I am reluctant to gut my cat. I also have heard from some posters that doing the elbows with our shorty TORS creates a crappy, raspy sound. So maybe the crossover is the way to go. How it also affected your gas MPG efficiency? Thanks

Hello Jeff As I said in the post I reckon it is money well spent and the Meerkat Bypass also looks very professional under the bike Vs a couple of "El Cheapo pipe bends" and I still have the original piece of iron if I wan to go back to Standard I like wise am a "Mature Rider" and did not want the Obnoxious Noise but dont mind making a bit when I want to. Peter Herrington of Meerkat tells me that He spent quite a bit of time tuning his system so that at cruise speed it is reasonably quiet ( 92Dba) but it certainly does have some blat when you feed it into the Ol Girl and everyone who has ridden with me says it sounds great. it is alos pretty sedate around town. As far as fuel econonmy is concerned I dont believe it made a great difference I think I have seen a slight reduction from my previous of 5.5Ltrs/100Klms to about 5.6 Ltrs /100 and that is mainly associated with the "Right Fist" on a recent ride of 2600+Klms I averaged 5.1Ltrs/100 Klms. as far as increased power goes I dont have any specific figures but I do know that is spins up a lot faster ie. it get going a lot quicker, The decel popping is a bit louder (which is understandable as the Cat Convertor surpressed it) but that can also be controlled by feathering the right fist. ie. Let it right of and you get it. hold it on a fraction and you get fuck all.
Alex of AxleX4 would also concurr with my comments as I think He was involved with Peter Herrington in getting it right.
As I said money well spent and sounds good for a "Mature Rider" and so far the Constabulory have not pulled me up.

The real performance changer is when we go from a 1600 set up to a 1700 set up with bigger cams plus decat plus a custom tune... My objective is better performance with a quicker throttle response/more pull on low end. Thanks
