I assumed the purple wire is positive and plugs into the center blade and the black plugs into the side blade on the port. I put my multimeter into the connector and that appears to be the case( happily not a stupid throw back to British positve neutral) Saw some older post where some people complained the connector was to short to reach back over to the ignition switch. I solved the problem. Its taped to the alarm module wire with blue tape. I just borrowed the wifes thin small long eyelash scissors and carefully cut the blue tape and separated the power port connector wire from the module wire. I was then able to fish it through to the right though it was an aggravation trying to fit my big paws in that small space but I did it. (Can we say work on a cool engine;)) It gave me just enough wire to connect to the port when I held it in the area of its mounting position. Also be on the safe side and disconnect the battery and cover the neutral post so the battery wire doesnt flop back onto the post. Better safe then sorry. One thing I did find is that this connection is hot ALL the time, its not tied into the ignition so dont leave something that draws current plugged in or you may come out later to a drained battery. Another hint put your nuts and screws in a central place and be sure to keep the old ignition bolts seperate from the new ones they supply. It appear the new ones have some type of locktight on them to keep from comming loose.(Im keeping the old ones to put in a small spareparts kit to carry with my bike once I get the bags mounted.) As a side note Bikebandit carries two model number Triumph powerports, one is to be used after a certain serial number and the other is for the older serial numbers, dont know what the differences are but Bikebandit says it matters. So be sure to verify the port will work with your serial number range. Now for the fun part, regular cigarette type plugs are too big for it so I have to find some adapters. Any advice on the best place to source quality adapters would be appreciated.

They have a dedicated iPhone cord, which I sorely want, but it's tough to justify $50 for that when I already have the cigarette style adapters aplenty. Thanks.
