I'm thinking about replacing my Hardstreet Slimbags with larger bags and am soliciting interest if anyone wants to buy them. I'll sell them for $250 plus shipping in the U.S. only. The bags are now mounted on Easy Brackets which fit over the Triumph detachable sissy bar. I am keeping the Easy Brackets for new bags (perhaps Cs4 which is formerly K-Drive). The holes in the bags are positioned perfectly. The dealer had to drill out an extra hole between the two bottom ones on the Easy Brackets, so each bag is mounted with 3 bolts. From the pictures, the fit to the bike (shocks and tail lights) is perfect with the detachable sissy bar on. Without the sissy bar, the bags would be closer to the shocks and tail lights - I'm not sure how much. The pictures are in my album (Dougl). If anyone responds, I will record your names in order and get back to you when I pull the trigger on the new bags. Thanks.

OK. Do you have the Triumph detachable back rest/luggage rack? If so, then there are different mounting bolts for the Easy Brackets. Fast Eddy knows about this but if you don't have the detachable backrest, then check with Fast Eddy that the Slimbags with Easy Brackets will clear the shocks and tail lights. Looking at my pictures, it looks like the bags can move in toward the bike. I don't think the sissy bar adds more than 1/4" onto the original fender mounting.

By the way, Tee, you're at the top of the list (only one). I just ordered Cs4 bags from Belgium. I need to get them first before I ship my Skimbags away.

#2 for me please... I can arrange for a US shipping address if sending across the Canuck border is an issue.

Zeek - It has to be a U.S. address. I ship FedEx through work and my admin won't appreciate having to deal with customs charges and paperwork on my personal behalf.

To avoid any confusion about mounting the bags, check out the Easy Bracket web page:

Link
The idiots left off the model numbers for the brackets with and without the Triumph Backrest.

Without should be TRI-R3 and with backrest TRI-R3BR. The mounting hardware is different.

With the backrest, the Easy Brackets mount on the two front holes in the fender over the backrest mounting. Without the backrest, the web site says the brackets mount on the two rear holes in the fender. In this case, the Easy Brackets would have to be relocated rearward on the bags from where I have them, although I don't see what would prevent mounting them as I have them on the two forward holes with or without the backrest except possibly the length of the mounting bolts.

If you are using a Triumph Backrest You can not use the 2 back hols as the Bbackrest side plate actually cover the back bolt.

Not a problem, as I'd mentioned above, I can do a US address if need be.

Cheers,

OK cool. I checked out the instructions for the backrest and supposedly there's a spacer tool that you use to torque down the bolts so the backrest goes on and off easily. I'll let you know as soon as my new bags come in. The Slimbags are off the bike until then.

Thanks. Don't mess with soft leather bag brackets. The Slimbags are rigid and need good support. Spring for the Easy Brackets and they will mount right up easily.
