just got my long haul dual seat back from mean city cycles after the memory foam mode with new leather seat cover and I'm going out on my first ride with it today
total cost was $305 including the shipping cost
we will see if it was worth it

currently on a slow Harley but will have another Triumph eventually

So they basically built you a new seat from the ground up? You must have $600+ in to that Triumph Long Haul seat by now?

I bought that exact seat and I'm wondering if it can be improved upon, I think for all the extra money I spent the only real benefit is being able to mount the rider backrest. That is it. While the backrest is worth its weight in gold, the seat is marginally better than the stock seat.

I notice when I arrive at a typical rally all of the HD riders bow down down out of respect. My friend (an HD rider) says that I'm mistaken and that the HD guys are bending over to pick up rocks to throw at me. Thankfully, I have yet to be hit by a rock and if need be I can out run them all.

yeah, when you put it like that $600 plus in that seat sounds crazy but what choice do we have, corbin, bout the same price when you add shipping but the corbin may alter the air-flow and the pillion is to short for the triumph sissy bar so i think it was a reasonable risk considering our options. and for complete discloser they did not alter the factory foam in the pillion area only the drivers part. i told them i wanted the seat lowered 1" and the hump in the front flattened and a valley in the middle of the seat to take the pressure off the tail bone and they cut a little off the front edges to narrow the front a bit and the leather cover. i wish we had more options but we don't .

You have a GREAT option: Russell Daylong seats

agree, but to have what i had done i'm guessing it would be about double $ and I'm not crazy about how the russell looks. that being said the comfort level of the russell is probably unmatched. I'll say this about the mean city seat i rode saturday with a bunch of tigers without the backrest in place and neither my tailbone nor my back hurt after the ride so to me the seat did what i wanted it to do

Agreed. I was hoping for considerable improvement, but it's marginal at best. This is an interesting way to address the problem, but I don't know if I could see my way to another $300 for it. I suppose the OP is correct, though...when choices are few to none, I suppose the cost becomes secondary. I'll have to keep this option in mind.

Not true. Mine is a single saddle but it was $400. But something from the Corbin Brick COmpany for that.
