So I'm thinking about purchasing the Triumph long haul dual seat, Long Haul back rest (btw, what's the difference between the long haul and touring backrest?), and the triumph saddle bags.
Any wisdom you could offer on these bits?
Also, is there a difference between the long haul dual seat vs the single and passenger seat?

I have the Long Haul dual seat with Long Haul Backrest and Mrs Shagrat has never complained to me that it's anything other than comfortable. We don't tour Europe like some guys here, so our journeys tend to be mainly between 50 and 300 miles.
I was told by my local stealer that the only difference in the backrests is the padding, although I'm a tad dubious about that feeble explanation.
I don't like bags on bikes, because I personally think they ruin the lines. If we're going to stay overnight somewhere, we take a Luggage roll on the backrest and maybe a backpack too.

(Re: shagrat57) | | Ditto on the dual long haul with rider backrest ( touring pad) and detachable backrest with touring pad. Don't get the triumph bags. They are permanently mounted and tend to deform. Think about mounting bags on detachable EZ Brackets. There are a lot of such bags to choose from like Hardstreet or Edge bags.

(Re: intimidator32) | | I think the triumph bags are ok just but only if they are mounted on easy brackets . The original triumph brackets are heavy complicated and permanent . A mate of mine has just bought some bags for his storm from Viking bags in America. I don't know if they export because he had to use a freight forwarding company , they weren't too expensive and they look good.

(Re: Freebird) | | freebird , i replaced the triumph bags on my america with viking bags and they were a lot better. the triumph bags got wet on a long road trip and started falling apart plus the viking bags cost half as much

Just as an aside I notice on your avatar you have the same colour bird as mine cranberry and black , love it. Triumph just replaced my fuel tank due to a leak under the hinge .

(Re: Freebird) | | wow, hope that doesn't happen to mine. i was in my local triumph shop this past weekend and saw the same paint design as ours only in blue with black trim. looked ok but i like the red better and i notice the lines on one of the tanks was quite squiggly . WTF triumph what about quality control, this kind of stuff makes us all look bad

They're OK in a light shower but as soon as you hit any serious rain it gets in. I'd not buy them again.
