Diz, nobody is saying he doesn't have the right to try the CT. This being an Internet forum, opinions will be shared. I like that people say what they think here. The OP isn't the only one who's opinion means anything and on this subject in this forum it isn't a surprising reaction. If he just wants to share pics, there's a place for that here. If he wants to put it in the lounge, we're going to talk about it. All I'm reading is that the majority of those opposing the CT are doing so based on their opinions that it isn't safe. A few also find it rather unattractive. Differing opinions, equal merit as contribution to this topic. Am I missing something else?

Nothing wrong with taking about anything.

I don't think he asked for any opinions or advice. Then we had a discussion about that. Then we had a discussion about hoping someone who was laughed at sorta would come back and say if he went back to regular bike tire and a discussion about was there a principle, are all opinions right or wrong?

Is there an absolute Truth, blah, blah.... And I was expressing my opinions about that. Am I missing something?

Just posting a subject on a forum is asking for discussion. A dot was posted and that kept us happy for weeks FFS

Eskerinola is by no means backwards when it comes to knowing about bikes - I was just looking back at some of his work and it's pretty cool stuff. For someone to try this out for the rest of us is a brave thing to do - be it good or bad. Not my thing at all and I don't like the look of a car tyre on a bike - but i'm still interested in thread.

I shall be fitting aircon to my bike over winter and I want no ridiculeing or laughing

DING DING DING DING DING ...... We have a winner.

Eskerinola is a big boy. He's been around this forum enough to know that the lion's share of opinion is dead set against slapping a car tire on a bike. He did it anyway and posted it up here. I don't think it came remotely as a surprise that a lot of people didn't like it or that they said as much. I'll give him points for doing it anyway, in spite of that forgone reaction. I won't however alter my opinion of the idea or the end results of that action simply because he was brave enough to 'give it a go' any more than I'll be applauding the knob jockey who puts ape hangers on a bird. My personal opinion is that the choice has greatly detracted from the really brilliant job he was doing on customizing the bird, both visually and with it's functionality.

Now, does all this mean I'm not interested in the fact that he did it, or less likely to buy him a beer and talk bikes if we were to meet in person? Not at all. Alternatively, does it mean that Eskerinola should suddenly pull the tire off his bike, run out and buy the most expensive performance tire he can find for the bike in an effort to win back the negative opinions of me and the others on this forum that disagree with the choice? Not at all, it's his ride to do with as he sees fit, but in a discussion forum choices like this are going to be ..... (wait for it) ..... discussed.

I still think a lot of the work on the bike is awfully good. I just have to cover a bit of it up with my hand now if I want to really appreciate it.

How many of you used to run the old Avon Speedmaster tyre in the 80's ?, especialy when cash was tight cos they did last an awful lomg time. I did and am still here, just had to modify the riding a little and that was almost the same square profile, being a sidecar outfit tyre. If Eskerinola is happy with it and it gives him what he wants out of it I say good on him, Some people on this forum put screens and luggage on theirs, thats far more offensive

Mick . . . Keep the rubber side down!!

Yes, all opinions are discussed. I certainly don't like to be agreed with or disagreed with. I don't particularly dislike ether.

I find most things offensive, including my own opinions so I tend to ignore quite a bit. I walk the straight and narrow so I swerve all over.

When I feel like typing I type, riding I ride.

In short it is this way..... What? Me Worry?? I'm just trying freedom. Someone called my setup a Beast. May they never be
forgiven, for I have forgotten if Mjgt said it.
