So the safest place to ride is Wales or the north east, particularly if a pensioner.
Surprisingly not so bad if you're in your forties either.

If only I had a bigger garage

Interesting reading, well posted. Two things stand out for me here:

Diesel or oil appears to cause the lions share of the accidents by a very long way. Really easy to solve - put the f@cking cap back on, asshole - so how come the big campaign of a few years ago hasn't righted this glaring wrong? Is it time for another or do these figures go back a while? (Or maybe it's time for a new excuse?)

30mph - just don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Particularly not in London - try 60, hardly anyone crashes in London at 60!

Oh, a third thing - chosing Bridlington to be in the North East rather than Yorkshire here might not be a great first line of defence under actual driving conditions Mat, but riding north rather than west for your days out might indeed be a wise choice

Well I'm trying to look on the bright side.

I do normally find myself heading north anyway for my rides out.

Don't blame you, but it's a lovely part of the world in all directions from you really (although I'd give east a miss if I were you - what with all the chromework, eh?)

I pushed the number up in Yorkshire

Paul did the same in Hampshire

Would be interesting to see the Italian, Czech Republic, Croatian and Hungarian stats - them boys and girls are mental!

Oh yeh! However there's probably few motorcyclists in the region as they tend to drive tractors or combine harvesters over there.

This would be cool to see for the US. But how do you quantify IDIOT DRIVERS???? At least you all have it easy. The answer is to always do more than 30MPH!! But didn't know you guys could read MPH.

Just remind me to not live in Bubwith - the stats are getting worse.
