I have the big bore kit in my bike. I also have the Foran pipes and crossover, under seat modifications, K&N air filter. It was giving around 101 RWHP and 125 Ft Lb Torque. I then had my original 1600 cams re-profiled and ground and the bike now gives around 121 Hp and 144 ft Lb torque. The cams hold the secret to the power.

It pulls like a train from all revs and fuel consumption has not suffered. All my work was done by Tune-Boy in Australia and I can not fault his work or service. Another Oz member has had the same done and his grin is as big as mine.

At what RPM are you getting 144 ft lb?

These are the type of numbers I've been anxiously waiting for could we please have a little more info on where, how much & who do we contact if any of us Aussies want to achieve these very impressive results ?. I love my storm but with a decent power kick in the arse it would be just that much better.

the torque monster starts 2700 and goes hard past 5000

if you have a mechanic that can dial your new cams in and you have the exact same setup as Steve and me
you can then go to tune boy buy his software for this setup and it should be pretty close to ours
if your setup is different to ours you will need to get your bike on a dyno with the tune boy software and do the time on a dyno

price is
you need a set of cams$$?,then send them to get filled and reground($500-$700) depending where you get them done
then someone to fit new cams and dial them in(3-5hrs work)$$?
then tuneboy software$500
if not the same setup as Steve and mine then dyno time 3-5hrs$$?

very impressive numbers, now can you talk your guys into selling those cams commercially? is the clutch up to the task? valve springs? did I read the tbird uses a cam belt? less noise but is it strong. that kind of power is going to find any weak spots, design flaws, whatever we don't know about this new motorcycle we are gonna find out now. I am excited for u guys & really hope and want these mods to work well & I hope the rubber stays on those metz's at 160 mph & hope the frame dont flex cause if I had that kind of power I would use it like I'm sure you are. my mouth is dry I gotta go get something to drink.

Not sure where u heard that Steve, but look at the manual....it's chain not belt. And the clutch springs should be up to the task, as the 1700 has stronger spring plus the clutch is said to be beefier even than the R3. The belt i would think is the main concern because generally bike with that kind of power are usually chain or shaft. Then again it depends on the belt. The boss hoss uses a belt, but it's also a huge belt.
