Brought the bike home yesterday and cleaned it up for a couple of photos of the new Headlight Cowl.

I used the Blue Magic on the wheels and was pleased with the results. Removed 99% of the stains.

Looks great Willy. Gives the bluebird a nice racey look to it. The chrome lowers look good too.

So tell me, what all does the cowl replace? Is the original bucket still there? Does it just replace the retainer ring? I'd get one if it wasn't too touch to swap it out. I'm still of the mind that the cowl looks better on the striped bikes but I've not see much of it on a black one anyway.

Thatch

It comes with a new bucket that has the mounting tabs integrated with the housing. So when you think about it, the price is not that bad considering you get the Cowl and the new bucket which makes for an easy and sturdy installation.

I wasn't sure when I ordered it but I am very pleased with it now.

I know others are not fond of it, but that's what makes this sport so cool. You create the look and feel that works for you.

Blue and White on white (snow) looks the best. You will love the bike. Hope the snow goes away fast, we get spoiled out here. The cowl does look good, I put the medium screen on. It looks better than the hi screen, and does cut down the wind. I can live the slight buffeting at forehead level.

I saw a kitted out TBird at the dealer on saturday . It had the cowl and I have to say it looked very good . All opinions of course but I think ill get one.

Gota say the engine guards and highway pegs looked prety sexy too. Oh and the short tors and chrome folks and wheels. Ill take a picture actually when I pick mine up. It had a whicked snake skin blue custum seat on it too.

Have anyone rode with and without headlight cowl to make comparison? Does it take away any of wind pressure from chest?

Ok, thanks. I'm not a big fan of screens (not even the low summer screen) and thought if cowl would make any difference but I guess all I have to do, is workout my arms and neck muscles a bit

Have you checked out the givvi site . There are some small sport screens that may look quite sexy and not look too out of place - was thinking how I could get hold of a couple to try. Bluenose has a short light mounted screen, that If I remember right, he said did take a bit of wind away . There is a pic of it on one of the last posts.

Hi Guys. I fitted the cowl few weeks back (pics are in my album) got to finally test it out yesterday. It looks great (imho)
I mainly wanted to reduce the buffeting at higher speeds..mission accomplished, still feel the wind but the effects are much smoother
so i, m happy...Took about half an hour to fit...cheers all, Tadpole

Looks good Tadpole. If you get a chance can you grab a side shot of the bike with cowl? There are far too few black birds with the cowl. So it's hard to find any good shots.

Nice looking riding you've got out there.

The cowl's look great guys, I've added a GPS to the handlebars and I can see I'll have to fab a custom mount to get lower and less obtrusive. I'm glad to here they actually add some aero advantage.

Does this mod change the headlight height???

Hiya Keets, The headlight bucket is replaced by one similar with 4 metal tabs that the cowl bolts to, headlight adjustment is same as standard, took me half an hour to fit and adjust...best regards, Tadpole
