I currently have smaller softbags but i sent and email to Tsukayu and here is their response if anyone is interested in hard bags:
Our strong bags, coner bags, jumbo strong bags and patrol bags can fit with
2010 triumph thunderbird, but the bags will be mounted higher than the
fender because the stock pipes position very high and also you should
relocate the rear stock turn signals in order to mount the bags.

I'd wager a set of EDGE 103 XL's would fit perfect and look great on the T-bird.

I have the Tsukayu bags on my T-Bird. See my "My Mods" thread in the Accessories forum. Be sure to get the ones specifically for the Easy/Ghost brackets as they will mount up better than the others. See that thread for both installs of the non-bracket bags and then the correct ones.

BTW... you do not have to relocate the turn signals... at least with the Easy Brackets.

Be sure to go to the end. There were two different Tsukayu installs.

Just put on the Saddlemen Drifter Bags w/Easy Brackets. Had to drill one of the holes larger to attach. Also, added a 10" brace on the inside, this prevents the bags from sagging and cracking. Especially the down side bag.
Took these shots at the Nethercutt Museum, Sylmar, CA, just down the street from the house. They have a great collection of cars, and best of all, it is free to go in. A good place to ride to on a Saturday. You will not be disappointed.
The Mid sized screen works good for me, MADSS was good, the first screen had two nicks on the top. They sent replacement right away.

Ray, which easy bracket did you use? The one for a R-3? When you said you drilled a hole bigger did you mean on the saddlebag attaching to the bracket or you drilled a bigger hole in the bracket itself to attach to the side rail? thanks. they look good!

I called Easy Bracket and ordered the TB brackets. Since the QR Sissy Bar is on back order, I ordered the brackets with 2 sets of bolts. One standard and one for the QR, $20 extra.
The bags have 4 reinforced holes. I mounted using the the 1st hole and the 3rd. The 3rd hole is just off center, so I used a metal bit to drill it out and make room for the bolt. Then spray painted the bare metal black.
I don't know if throw overs will scratch paint, but these come out quick, and the mounting posts are not noticeable at all.
I do use a backpack at times, but next Jan I will retire and want to do some traveling. I would need my old Army backpack to take everything, and would probably fall backwards.

nice solution!
Paint scratches are a concern that is part of the reason for the post to see if anyone is using Throw-overs and what their solution was to prevent scratching. I had soft bags on my 1999 Sprint and they came with body panel protectors which worked very well on the tail of the Sprint.

Yes the easy brackets are great. With just the key you can take the bags off and in to your hotel room or storage and you still can have that cruiser look when not traveling.

Absolutely correct. You can get both bags (any style you choose) on or off in less than 10 seconds and leave nothing visible on the bike. Plus, the guys that make them are great. Their customer service is outstanding. Take a look. The site says Suzuki but I think they just overlooked changing the copy for the Triumph page. They fit perfectly.

What about the size of the bags? I am looking at the Saddlemen Teardrop Drifter bag, but I am concerned that the turn signals will be in the way. How well do they fit in the space between the turn signals, the shocks and the pipes?

Roger, those look great! Just curious, do they fit a lot more crap in them then the standard Triumphs? I was looking at these before and was concerned the cutouts would take away some storage space. Your pics make it almost look like they were made for the bike.

Those look good, I was told the Slimlines would not fit the TBird! How was the installation? Was there any extra hardware needed due to the Backrest being installed?

Looking at Fast Eddies site it seems you can order the T Bird Easy Brackets for fitment with QR sissy or without QR sissy. I assume each kit has bobbins of differing length to keep the brackets parallel to the bike.

The bags look superb by the way. I bought the Triumph ones and they are OK... but only just OK

Birdman, I just installed them and threw some stuff I had in my other bike's bags (Leatherlyke CrossCountry) into these. I will check tomorrow and compare these to the leather bags before I box them up. Both have a tuck for the shock, while the Slimbag also has one for a swingarm (since it is generic) and that takes away quiet a bit of what would have been very use able space. My pics of the bags are deceiving as far as how big the bags are. Check out the link for a pic of the inside of the bags. They are advertised at 1800 cubic inches per bag. They do fit very nicely with the Easy Brackets I ordered from Fast Eddies. I had to drill two new lower holes in the Easy Brackets to work with the odd shape of the bags.

Kando, I just ordered the EasyBracket for TBirds with the backrest. It all fit wonderfully. No extra hardware required. There is a particular place on the back (bike side) of the bags where the EasyBracket just sort of locked into. When holding the bags to the brackets while they were on the bike the placement seemed about perfect. No issues with the turn signals or anything else.

Ok you all, here is my best effort to clear this up. The Triumph Leather bags the opening is 18" long, inside the bag the narrowest point is about 4" and the widest is 6.5". The HdSt the opening is 21" long, in the bag the narrowest point is about 4" and the widest is about 6.5". HdSt claims 1800 cubic inches of storage in each bag.

Putting into each bag, 3 pairs of gloves, rain paints, tire pump, gauge and Mag Light, cloth and cleaner:

Bottom line is they are about equal in capacity. Both have a tuck to cover the shocks which I think is very nice. To me some of the other bag that leave the shock exposed the bags are too far to the rear. From a finished look, IMHO the Hard Streets just look like they were made for the bike.
