Was over on the other place, looking for Triumph rides/events up here, and stumbled onto this...

Got me to thinking that there might actually be a way to set us up for both single/dual long haul or stocker pillions, AND prevent those rubber nubbins from screwing up our rear fenders.

Basically use the Kuryakyn idea, but set it up with a wider bottom "plate" goes beneath the pillion seat and fits under the front pillion bracket (or just bolts in it's place for the dual setups). Compared to pic below, make 2 holes forward for our bracket location. And the rear hole aligns with our fender bolt. The sissy bar receiver could be laid out so that it can accept the Triumph backrest and pad and/or dimensioned for some of the aftermarket passenger backrest(s).

For those of us that go solo a lot, we still gotta add/remove the pillion brackets anyway (ugly), so have to do 3 screws anyway.

Bottom of the "plate" could be covered with a soft, non-marring material/cloth, so that it doesn't muff up our paint. Also, for those with QR saddlebags, etc., would eliminate the need for the longer fender studs, cantelevering the bags out further.

Just a thought....but unfortunately, I don't have a machine shop at my finger tips...
