Has anyone installed driving lights on the forks ... like the Kuryakyn stuff. I think that's the way I want to go. Would like to see a pic if anyone has done this.

The trouble with mounting lights on the forks is they take road shock along with the shocks which is what they're supposed to do.And guess what happens to the bulbs after a few good bumps? Dave!!!

Yep ... a good point and very well made. Do the fork uppers take more of the shock than any other front end component though. Hmmm not sure. Plenty of manufacturers have produced goodies for this purpose. I will contemplate that further.

I have always liked the Motolights. there is a thread about them around here somewhere. Try bumping the thread and see if anyone has any long term report on their durability as they are caliper mounted.

I have held off largely because they are so low i suspect they will get eaten by rocks. so Ill have tp design rock guards for them. Its a project that leads to more projects.

I thought it was the lower halves of the forks, where the calipers are mounted, that we were talkin about here, not the upper halves.I stand corrected.I've known guys who mounted lights there. The problem is, when ya hit a bump, the light also takes the same hit as the shock, jarring the filiments in the bulbs, hence no more light until the bulb[s] are replaced, until ya hit another bump. That's why I commented on it. Dave!!!

I,ve put a pair of LED lights on the bottom front dresser bar fixing point.

They only cost around £15. They come with just enough cable to wire into the headlamp...

I got them from here...

It takes around 3 weeks for items to arrive. I have bought many an item from here without any problems. although their discriptions are written in chinglish...

The lights are LED, rated at 3 watts so they are really bright yet tiny...

lockey,

Could you take a picture of your mounting brackets for the lights on the engine dresser bars. Looks like an awesome place for driving lights, should be some type of "L" bracket.

Kuryakyn SUCKS and they don't stand behind their products when they rust.

Nope, I'm sure you can find others here that will agree. There have been previous posts on the matter.

Red. They come already with a 3m sticky pad stuck to them just peel to reveal stickiness and apply directly to the bottom dresser bar bolt on point.... The lights are slightly smaller in diameter than the diameter of the bracket and fit neatly the cables are just long enough to reach into the headlight...

Yes, but pretty bright, similar to a standard 30 watt bulb.. Plus less than $20 dollars inc P&P.

I've found then even cheaper here...
