I gave it a good spray with Scottoiler 365 beforehand but the switch housing screws are looking a bit manky. I don't want to go the expense of replacement chrome housings but wondered if anybody could point me in the direction of some weather proof allen screws?

If I know the size I can get them easy. Try RS components. Or the interweb for stainless screws nuts and bolts. If I have time I will take mine apart and get some sorted.

On the throttle side they are 25mm long but on the clutch side 20mm long. They are available from RS online in A2 or A4 stainless steel (A4 is ther higher grade).
RS online part numbers to help your search;-
A2 Stainless steel 25mm long = 290-124 = £14.68 per box of 50 A4 Stainless steel 25mm long = 187-1342 = £26.59 per box of 50
Rather than buying two sizes cut the 25mm ones down to size. Put a nut on the thread before cutting then use a file to clean the end. Finally remove the nut and it will also clean the start of the thread, remember you are screwing into Aluminium.
Hang fire for a day or two I might be able to lay my hands on some. If so I'll send you some.

I wish I hadn't seen this. I have a fetish for the shiny bolts ... real bad. Tastynuts ... careful how you goggle that mind. It's already been suggested ... Probolt. Pure porn in a little packet. Their stuff is wicked in the true sense of the word. I can't stop buying it. Trouble is it's soooo feckin expensive I have to go without food for days in order to assuage my appetite for the poxy things.
Don't post the sizes up or I'll see it and order straight away .... I want the drilled titanium racing bolts for the calipers ... just put them on my Super Ten.

(Re: Oak) | | Sorry Oak, we only have 4mm & 6mm stainless (and then only 15mm long), dont use many 5mm (thought there might be old stock from a long forgotten project laying in a tray somewhere). I had five of us turning the workshop upside down today, found all sorts of goodies we'd forgotten about, but sadly not what we were looking for.
Good luck with the search.

A number of these websites mentioned sell screws in small quantities, so I'm going to have a good look over the bike at the weekend and order anything that looks dodgy. I probably should have done this rather than paying Triumph £17 for the stainless engine plugs a couple of weeks back.

I asked Probolt today if they intended listing bolts and kit for the Thunderbird. They advised that they are getting one in for measuring in the near future and will be offering some shiny bits for our bikes. That's me stuffed ... will have to get some.

Hi Ian
When you measure up let me know. I have loads of ST/ST fixings. from Westfield. I'll check if I've got what you want. You can always ride over help yourself and fit them. I'll even make you a cuppa.
Hows the bike now. Chesterfield sort it for you?
