i hooked up the lights to the bird using the yellow parking light wire in the bucket and wiring out the motolight switch. in theory this would allow the lights to operate as the headlights do. easy peasy, right?? BUT when i turn the lights on the ML's stay off, when i turn the key to the OFF position (no headlights) the lights go on! At first glance it would appear that the relay, which should close upon energization is wired backwards and CLOSES (NC vs NO) when power is taken from the control leg. I wired the ML supplied switch in to verify and i can get the ML to operate only when the key is in the OFF position (or in my pocket).
Bad relay?? bad owner?? payback??
BTW, i ca't seem to get ML on the phone.
