Hi all,

Just thought I'd share thoughts on this bag for anyone looking to buy and feedback from those who already own one. I am pleased with the bag and how it sits on the bike. Rode around 400km's without any of the straps loosening on me . Also was great to see the middle pouch on the bag is removable and includes it's own little shoulder strap. Will be awesome when I take this bag overseas with me. It also has oodles of room which will come in handy for my round Aus. trip.

Unfortunately, after my first trip on returning home, I put the main shoulder strap back on the bag and went to go inside. While unlocking the house I heard a couple cracks then the bag dropped off my shoulder. Found the bracket which the strap feeds through had broken through. Bag is only about 3 weeks old and had less then 20kgs in the bag.

This is really a small glitch as it will have no effect on how the bag travels or sits on the bike. Will only make it a tad difficult to carry while I'm overseas. I have contacted Motorbikes And Parts in the UK (where I bought it from) to see if I can get a new strap . Failing that I'm sure its nothing that a piece of 12mm rope won't fix.

Cheers

Jono.

How are you going mate? On your way yet? Go to a marine chandlery and you can get almost the same fitting in stainless, last for ever.

Rocket is loving his Storm.

Shame about the swivel clasp. I'm tempted to call it a one off fault as I've not heard of any other issues like this with the bag connection bags. I'm quite pleased with mine and it saw me through 2 long tours under some nasty weather and oppressive sun without fault or leaks. Hopefully you can find a quick replacement for the clasp. Have you contacted bags connection directly concerning the clasp? I'd be surprised if the didn't pony up a new clasp for you.

Hi Lee and Thatch,

I'm still about 3 weeks off heading north still, the weather up here is killing me at the moment, but if it's still raining like it has been by then I'm going to bite the bullet and head off still. A stainless fitting sounds like an awesome idea, I was looking at going to a couple canvas/tent joints in Mackay here to try find something else.

It's not really all that hard to love the Storm, I enjoy every moment on it.

I have contacted Motorbikes and Parts in the UK where I bought the bag so will see what happens there. All things considered the bag is still bloody good value and this fault wouldn't stop me recommending anyone to buy it.

If you get the chance shoot a copy of your email off to bags connection directly (they're in Germany I believe). I bet they'd post you a new clip.

Good luck with that weather.

(btw, it's 'Thatch', 'Thor' is a ranking descriptor (your's is currently 'Set'. No worries, just letting you know)

That's a great idea, thanks.

Mind must've been in neutral once I started typing names last night .

Thanks again.
