I have wondered how the guys with floor boards ever found the kickstand peg, I see now they didn't.

Looks like a pretty good mod. Much better than digging around with your foot.

Sorry, but I'd see that as a prime argument against ever having floorboards on the bird. (not that I didn't think there were already plenty of reasons, but y'all keep surprising me)

What the hell "argument?" You don't like them, don't have them. I like them. I have them. Do we all have to have everything the way you like it? If you look hard enough you can probably find a link for Luddites Anonymous.

OK PEOPLE, LISTEN UP. FROM NOW ON ALL MODIFICATIONS, ACCESSORIES, ETC. MUST BE APPROVED BY THATCH PRIOR TO BEING PURCHASED OR INSTALLED. FASTEDDY TAKE NOTE. YOU BETTER MAKE UP SOME PERMISSION FORMS BEFORE YOU SELL ANYTHING ELSE TO A THUNDERBIRD OWNER. I'll let the factory know not to release any more accessories until cleared with Thatch. Whew! We almost had a problem there.

That kickstand looks like a winglet on a Boeing 767. What a monstrosity, and a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. I've had floorboards since I got the bike and have no problem finding the kickstand. What's the big deal? If you like the looks, go for it. I just don't understand the problem?

Hey, if it works for the OP fine. Just looks a bit clunky. As for boards, eh ... I don't care for them nor could I used them if I wanted to (my leg length would make the ankle angle excruciating) just never cared for them on the bird for some reason. Had them on my old police bike and liked em well enough. Eh,ride what you like (so long as you have the appropriate waiver filled out of course)

Hi feduke;
The look of the Boeing winglet was exactly what I was looking for.
You see, I am 1.66m tall (or short :(), and it was a real nightmare to reach the kickstand. Since there are many people in the same situation and I could not find a solution other than doing it myself, I thought I could enlight them to precisely "stop suffering".

My inseam is 63.5 cm. That can't be too much longer than yours? I can appreciate your problem though, and if it works for you, that's excellent.

My inseam is 30" (76.2 cm) and I have a bit of a stretch, but it's really no big deal at all.... I just consider it a bit of exercise before I go off for a ride.

Eskerinola, all this complaining about wind spreading your legs and now the stretch to reach the kick stand has the potential to give us shorter riders a bad reputation... QUIT IT!

Before buying my TBIrd I wanted a GS1200. The only reason I bought the TBird was just b'se I could "nearly" reach the ground. In the end I was lucky to make up my mind on such a nice bike

Watch out Nars! Now that Thatch is head of the Mod Police you'll be gettin' a knock on your garage door in the dead of night!!

Now it's cold (for all except our brothers down under and Feduke) I can tell cabin fever is setting in.

It SURE is cold here in Colorado... damned snow won't melt and I've already done my fill of shoveling the drive and walks. At least I have a few more hours of sun than you blokes across the Pond... what do you have, like an hour and a half around lunch time?

Didn't that storm that clobbered Western Mass a few weeks ago get you too? That was more like a hurricane.
