Father-of-three Stephen Rawlinson, 26, was told: "Even the time to text eight characters is the time it takes to kill a man." Judge Jonathan Rose said the distracted motorist's "arrogance" cost married factory worker Nigel Earnshaw his life. The 58-year-old was riding his Honda 125cc bike to start a nightshift when Rawlinson's Ford Focus ploughed into him at a roundabout in Saltaire, West Yorks. Mr Earnshaw was rushed to hospital with a smashed ankle and died 18 days later from deep vein thrombosis.
Rawlinson failed to see the bike — and thought the sound of the collision was children throwing stones at his car. He denied he had been using his mobile. But Bradford Crown Court heard cops found a text he sent to his gran — whom he had been driving to pick up. It said he would be there soon. The dad, of Bradford, was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving.
Judge Rose told him: "There was an arrogance in your driving. You were driving too fast. You wiped out the machine and the man who was upon it." Rawlinson got three years' jail, a four-year driving ban and must retake his test.

During Daytona Bike Week this year I watched a BMW rider cruise down Route US 1 in heavy car, truck and bike traffic texting as he went along. If there had been any way to get to him (forget it during bike week traffic) I would have kicked his bike over.

One morning she had the wheels of her Range Rover (Chealsea Tractor) on my side of the road and suddenly saw me and veared back to her own side. I intend to take her registration number (license plate) and make a complaint to the police as soon as I can obtain all of the number. I just fear that one morning I won't make it to work cos I'm burried in a Range Rover. . . . . . . and I drive a VW van to work not my tigger.

If you don't get to work and brew that beer, WTF am I going to drink in the Telegraph. Don't be selfish and think of your mates - its going to be hard work carting you to the brewery with a knackered leg.

This is Brid police we are talking about. I went in to report a car break-in, and they said I couldn't report it cos it wasn't mine
It was a long story after that and many complaints.

The first time I went to Scotland I flew into Edinburgh and had the nicest taxi driver in the world. All the way from the airport to the George Hotel he gave me a running commentary on every landmark and I think the history of the city since its inception. I didn't understand one God damned word the man said.
And then there's Wales.................
