| Posted : 02 Nov 2011 - 21:31 Post title : storm handlebars question | | ok...ordered my new corbin solo today and they are going to shave it where i sit a little lower and a little farther back as to stretch out my legs a bit. now to the bars.
looking at some aftermarket handlebars (1") and question is do the stock bars stay 1" diameter all the way to the ends? in other words, where the controls/grips are, are they 1" everywhere or do they reduce to 7/8 " at the ends? sounds like a dumb question but the handlebars on my tiger 1050 are 7/8 diameter end to end so just wanted to clarify if these were 1" end to end. thanks in advance for the help!!!

I know it's a bar thread *hic -another round please...* but that there comment above interests me!
I like the Corbin seat - and I like that you can mix and match the colours. What I didn't like was the fact that you sit a little higher (so they say)....
BUT HOLD THE PHONE - what you have just written, re-writes the books! Right then - if Corbin can lower - say 1" - off their standard solo seat, then I'm in...
....
OK gentlemen - back to the bars *hic*

JENNIFER IN CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME SHE COULD LOWER ABOUT 1/2" AND SHAVE THE BACK ABOUT 1". THIS WON'T BE MUCH BUT ANYTHING WOULD HELP. SHE TOLD ME ANYTHING MORE OUT OF THE BOTTOM PAST 1/2" WOULD AFFECT THE COMFORT OF THE SEAT. SHE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THEIR SOLO SEAT DOES SIT YOU DOWN A TAD LOWER THAN THE STOCKER BUT I'M NOT SURE. RIDE SAFE

That doesn't seem possible to me. The corbin looks like an over-stuffed couch compared to the stock seat. There would have to be some MAJOR optical illusions going on for that to be true. There just isn't a lot of foam in the stock seat, to make a 'premium' seat as corbin attempts to do I don't know that you could do anything to make it lower unless you dropped the pan down and then you are restricting air flow.
Anywho, glad to hear they can modify it a bit. That should help with the look of things (and for more room for you)
