Nice stand....

How many miles do you have on that rear tyre. It looks to be way past the legal wear, certainty here in the UK anyway

Thats a NEW SOUTH WALES, Oztrayleeya......

Personal plate, RED-13......

I'm having a guess that it could be a fine upstanding member of the forum......

But I'm sure he wouldn't be doing anything "ILLegal"..

He'd probably be 'Gone'........... Or zo he might appear to be..??????

I've never used a rear stand. Can they easily be used with one person given that the bike would be on its side stand?

A - Haaaa..... GOOD question!
I'd like to know as well!

I bet you'll have to place a small choc of wood under the side stand to get it as level as possible before attempting to slide this center stand under.

Anyway - I like it!

Just one very small point -

The space between the stand and pully should be a little more than what I see on the above picture!

I'd lke to think I could rotate the wheel when cleaning - and NOT run the risk of scratching the chrome....

I've used my Pit Bull stand on ALL my bikes except my 'Bird (for obvious reasons). The Pit Bull's design is just about perfect for leveraging the rear of a sport/standard bike up with one person... and I'm short (5'7") and don't have a lot of body mass (145lbs). My concern with this stand is the rear weight of the Thunderbird, but since it's so low, it shouldn't be a big deal to leverage it up onto that stand.

I LOVE rear stands, so finally seeing one "in the flesh" with a 'Bird on it warms my heart... might have to grab one just for kicks!

Kando... did you buy it online? What was the total cost? Also, have you tried a standard stand on the front? I know there are the usual indents on the fork bottoms, but don't have my old front stand anymore to give it a try.

I have used a similar stand. It is still dodgy doing it on your own. Not a problem if you tie the front end up or get someone to steady the bike. Quick for wheel change though.

easily NO, no pit stand is easy to use by your self, but as you said put a block of wood under the stand and i can put it up and down with a bit of effort.
regarding the pulley i don't know whether it is just the camera angle but if positioned right it is not that close to the pulley.
you can easily clean the wheel and even take the back wheel off(i have done it twice before)

Did you have to remove the ABS sensor at the other side. I had to when I used a p/stand.

You have to watch out for the sensor if your useing this type of lift. Its not a problem, it comes out real easy - cable tie it out of the way and pop it back in once your done.
