(you don't want to hit an oil patch in a leather sole) The gel insoles and the 'Y' shank make for both a comfortable and long lasting boot. I've had my bullhide Ariat boots rebuilt a couple times in the last 15 years due to sole/heal wear but the uppers are still solid. Good choice.
