Anyone have any experience with their windshields? I have a fairly strong feeling that the generic trigger mounting kit may fit the Bird. We already know that Slipstream makes a shield that will fit the Bird, it's the same application for a 2007 Honda Shadow with the standard, non-tapered forks. The fork on the Honda is 41mm with the Bird forks being 47. I like the idea that the Memphis screens are adjustable with a little room to play front and back.

I was considering mounting a Goldwing vent in the stock screen but drilling a 600$ accessory is not a thrilling propostion. With the Memphis screen at half the price, I wont feel so bad about it if it does not cure the buffeting issue.

I've had one or two. I always considered them inferior to others... such as Rifle. To me, they just appear cheap. JMHO, though.

I have a Memphis Fats 17" on my VN900 with the quick release mount. It works great. I had it installed the day I picked the bike up from the dealer 22k miles ago. Have you checked their webpage? Link
I don't see Triumph listed for the Fats/Slims, I would call their support to get a better idea how their universal mount works.

I had a Memphis Shades Sportshield on my previous bike and despite trying every trick to adjust, plus adding lowers, always had buffeting issues at highway speeds. I've got National Cycle SwitchBlade shields (switch off between the 2-Up and the Deflector shields) on my TBird and couldn't be happier. The Deflector was perfect right out of the box; I cut down the 2-Up by about 1.5 inches to get the best view and performance with very little turbulence at touring speeds.

Search through the forum and you'll find a lot of discussion around eliminating buffeting with most, including me, recommending the addition of lowers.

Hey, AZCactus....he's also over on Facebook, Triumph Thunderbird 1600/1700 Owners group. He just posted a few photos over there....

Link
For about $500 ($300 for the fairing, $100 for windshield, and probably $100 for the mounting kit) that's not to shabby, and looks pretty good. Not much storage "inside", but serves the purpose.

HA! Funny you mention that. It's all finished, except waiting for a decent enough day to paint.
We usually get a few breaks through the winter, so .....
Gauges all tested and work nicely. Speedo fits well and also no issues.
Not decided if I want music on it, so there's still a place for speakers, or maybe rear view mirrors if they provide a dceent view.
Now I'm just working on a solution to the big hole in the tank nacelle.

Make yourself a small "glovebox"? A dry space for registration card, wallet or, maybe, a cell phone??

There's a couple other threads on here where they were filled in, too. Under "speedo relocation" probably????

Hope to see this all done up in Bennington!?!? I'm starting to look hard at the Memphis Shads Fat Bob version for my storm.....but want to make it quick release. May need to get a Triumph screen QR mount kit and see how I could fab something up??

I modified the Memphis Shades fork mounts to fit the TBIRD from my previous ride (old bike had larger diameter forks). I think the shield is a Alley Cat with quick mounting and clamps for a 2004 Kawasaki Mean Streak 1600. Worked great for me. Adjustable in and out and up and down. Had good luck with their products.
