Can anyone confirm if the Corbin Dual Tour seat will fit with the factory triumph sissybar/pad and luggage rack?. I'm going to order a seat and really need a back rest for the passenger and hoping that the Triumph one will fit OK with the Corbin.

Thanks,

Capt T

Nope, the Corbin Dual Tour seat with not work with the Triumph factory backrest. I know because I ordered one and had to send it back. Corbin's customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. Their dual tour seat is 2 1/2" shorter the the Triumph dual tour so what you end up with is a wide space between the end of the seat and the backrest. When I put it on my bike and the wife sat on it she was sitting in a hole if she sat with her back against the backrest. Corbin refuses to make the proper seat for the Thunderbird. I have written to them about this numerous times and they always reply with " They have no intention on changing the seat at this time".

I too purchased the Corbin Dual Tour and it was indeed too short for the factory backrest. I did however, after much time effort and aggravation, get them to fix my seat. I had to send my seat back but it is obvious to me that they had to make an entirely new seat. Since I purchased the seat through a dealer I had to have the dealer send it back even though I was the one who spent all the time, phone calls and emails before they agreed to make a new seat. They told my dealer it would be 3-4 weeks. Well 11 1/2 weeks went by before I got the new seat. During that time there were an inestimable amount of unanswered emails and voice mails by myself and my dealer. At one point (about 8 weeks in) they lost track of it. Their computer system was down and nobody would/could tell us if it was complete, on its way or what.
EZ is spot on . Their customer service is atrocious. The seat however is superb. They did however, eliminate the sleeve for the Corbin passenger backrest. It could be that they have created a mold and can now manufacture seats that work with the OEM backrest but I wouldn't bet on it. If you are patient and persistent call and ask for Janice. Good Luck. Hi EZ.
I called the number on Corbin's website for the Hollister factory but found out that the phone is sometimes answered in Florida. At any rate Janice Aliosi works in Hollister. Her email address is janice@mikecorbin.com I did notice that the new seat is configured like many of their dual tour seats that accept the chrome v rail. I think that would look great on the bird but it would have to be removed when using the OEM backrest. I only mention this because if they are going to build you a seat from scratch that may be able to be incorporated if you asked for it.
Good luck. The journey upon which you are about to depart is not for the faint of heart.

They only have one number and it will connect you to either store. I keep recommending that you ask for Vinny. I don't know about the others but he takes care of the customer.

How much longer did you have them make the seat?
Thanks

About a week after I had given up on them I got an email from Janice that said they were going to fix my seat. She never asked how much longer it should be but I had sent pictures on an earlier occasion. At any rate the new seat measures 29 1/2 inches front to back.

EZ-You confirmed my suspicions about the seat. I guess I could rework the Long Haul or just learn to live with it. My other bike has a very nice Mustang seat and I wish they would make one for the 'Bird. I have found myself that Corbins Customer service stinks and it seems it still does. Hey Corbin, if your reading this you lost a sale (again-did not use you for my Shadow or BMW) ok that's 3 lost sales to me. I remember the mess with my Pacific Coast repair.

"They have no intention of changing the seat at this time" I would have given it a go it it fit. The dealer in Daytona said it would.....

I have no intention of buying a Corbin-EVER.

Saddlemen will custom make a seat for the bird. I'm in the process of that now. I to will never buy anything from Corbin. They are the worst ever. Kinda like a car sales. Take your money and then don't bother them.

I would be very interested in a mustang seat for the Thunderbird but custom sounds very expensive? Did you send them your stock seat for a prototype. Mustang has earned my business with a great product and great service. My current Mustang seat on my Honda Shadow 750 is the most comfortable seat I have had. My wife has a Mustang on her Intruder 800 and loves that. Design and quality are first rate.
Corbin and Saddlemen are not earning it at all now.

I'm glad you had success with Mustang. As far as I'm concerned their policies and lies are bad enough I wouldn't buy anything from them. If you're really interested in the details, PM me. I just had to get my two cents in as this is the only company in the world I feel this way about.
