i bought a chrome instrument visor got it home and noticed there was a sharp metallic point sticking out on the visor rim, enough to snag/rip a polishing cloth or sting your finger
the replacement had 2 rust spots and a large rust line under the visor lip.
huh!! whats going on here?
interestingly when i took it back mark swepson was at the dealers and the dealer asked him his opinion, this should not have got past quality control and advised the dealer to write into triumph, was surprised when he was told this was the second replacement.

On another note, does the speedo visor help, at alll?

As far as the quality all of my stuff including the bird has been A-plus. I've been reading about all these problems you guys have issues with and checking my bike with no issues. the only problems I've had are the coolant leak and the original crappy 203 tune, no sticking speedo, no scratched paint, no bolts cutting the tire, and the wheels still new when I clean them. the only other problem i have is the peg feelers wear too fast . Am I just lucky? And yes It's an early bird. Comments please.

(Re: Linkdog) | | I've got the chrome coming away in a small spot near the triumph badge on the speedo cover, already told the dealer and they said they would order one in under warranty. Also noticed front guard (fender) a bit loose today as far as I can tell the bolts are still tight. I think i'll be taking in in soon to get both done.
Where have other people had the coolant leak I had one come from loose clamps above the throttle bodies.

Faulty throttle grip (broke down - dealer picked me up and had it sorted) Faulty wiring harness Throttle sensor replaced Datatool alarm to be replaced Front forks replaced Exhaust header pipe replaced Coolant hose leak - easily fixed Aux lamps replaced ABS cable repaced Rear baring and bushes replaced Rear brakelight switch replaced Rear pulley repaced
Pending
ABS and front fender recall
Otherwise my Bird has been trouble free
My chrome casings are a bit milky otherwise good along with paint and alloy wheels.
I wouldn't swap her for all the tea in China and the dealer is A1 in every sense.

1. Coolant leak. (fixed with screw driver) 2. Screw in new tyre. (ok - not Triumphs fault)
eeerrrrmmmmmm - thats it.
Another go. My first bird at 8500 miles on an 09 plate.
1. horrible knocking in engine - never sorted. 2. Was on its third drive belt
Other than that, my first bird went a lot better than my new Bird but I handed it back cos of the problems.
