This may be an isolated issue, but wanted to bring it to your attention in case you're experiencing intermitent throttle stick. I've been experiencing throttle sticking issues since I took delivery in August. It was mild at first; infrequent. As it got progressively worse I would have to raised my hand off the throttle a bit in order to allow it to spring back on it's own between gears (I must have looked like a total spaz going down the road). As the temperatures have been falling, I've noticed the problem getting worse, i.e. more frequent and I had to resort to actually pushing the throttle forward between gears.

I asked my mechanic to take a look at it today while in for other work and he said there was what appeared to be a manufacturing flaw in the handle bar in the region where the throttle slides. He said there was a "slight squaring" of the handle bar. They filed the region down and all seems normal now. They ordered me a new handle bar under warranty work.

I think it's Triumph's unadvertised cruise control feature

I think it is an isolated issue but thanks for the info, good to know if indeed more bikes would have this problem.

I have this issue, I noticed it today. I rode to work this morning +8C +46F and the throttle stuck! I thought the return spring had fallen off. Good to know about this problem. Thanks for the info.

FYI, in doing the various handlebar swaps I've been doing it is possible to bind up the cables that will cause a sticky throttle. I've done this a couple times by trying to feed too much of the cable back into the bike. You might try fiddling with the cables to make sure that isn't where the problem is coming from.

I took some time with the cables and made some adjustments. The problem is absolutely related to the temperature. The hand grip, when the temperature is cold in the morning "catches" I will investigate further and see if a file can fix this problem.

Thanks for the tip thatch!

Went for a ride yesterday and after some time I took my right hand off the bar only to realize that I had instant cruise control. I have not changed the bars or done any alterations to the controls but all of the sudden the throttle just sticks and binds. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problem when I'd only had the bike a couple weeks. I removed the handlebar end weight and squirted a bit of WD40 into the grip assembly and it's been perfectly fine ever since. No more Triumph cruise control!
