I've been reading a bit lately about luggage and thought I'd my two bobs worth...

I like the naked look of the Bird so the Easy Brackets and Hardstreets are the way to go for me. For a few day trip they are big enough, For longer trips I've been using a Wolfman Expedition roll bag. If you can get over the I'm on my way to the Mardi Gras look of the shiny back plastic. They are an excellent option. No zips just a full length opening that rolls to seal. That's it's best feature. it doesn't matter how full it is it can be rolled so that the contents stay secure and the bag holds it's shape. Plenty of tie down points and its a great backrest when on the pillion seat. 100% water proof. I also like that it can be used on any bike or as general luggage. I work on the water so I can throw it on the crew boat and not worry about spray.

After a couple of trips it loosens up and loses a bit of the shine...

It's expensive for a bit of plastic but I think it's worth it.

That is one thing I like about the TB compared to the America, I can strip it down most of the time. Got this Kuraykyn bag from Fast Eddy. Used it on the trip to Las Vegas, it is big but no problems. To connect it to the Easy Brackets, I just used 1" rings on the front post. The white bag is a down pillow cover, but the wife uses it to either sit on or as a lower back rest.

That's a bloody good idea using the rings with the bags. I'm going to make a couple of lugs up that have holes cut he same as the Easy Brackets and a slot to thread a 1" tie down strap through. Slip them on which ever posts suit when I'm not using the panniers

It was a Macgyer idea while looking at it and had no place to put the straps. Then it came to me to use the rings on the front posts.

G'day Leethal. Jesus I've been sprung... The bag matches my pink chaps though.

I really like the look of the Kuraykyn bags.

Does it really need the straps or is it a bit unstable without?

Also does it sit on the sissy bar rack ok or does it need a larger platform?

Thanks
