| Posted : 21 Apr 2011 - 03:54 Post title : Installing Motolights | | I (with some assistance :) ) will be installing caliper mounted Motolights tomorrow. Engage's very useful thread on wiring the lights to the Aux lighting switch will come in handy.
Quick question - The instructions remind you to know the manufacturer's recommended torque settings for the caliper bolts. I don't have a service manual. Could someone please let me know this setting.
Thanks

I'm interested in installing aux lights at some point and would like to put them on myself. I've looked at Motolights and I think that's what I may eventually end up with.

I really like these Motolights. They look to be very well made and durable. The brushed aluminum really ties in well with the front fork and wheel and looks like an OEM accessory designed for the Bird.
Engage and others have posted pics but here are few of mine.
BTW I went for the 50 watt bulbs for increased brightness.

Is it sabotage? Are you typing in extra html tags to throw the system?

But, when I go back to the thread and open them from there they look alright. All I do is type in the box and I doubt Birdman was the cause of the problem. Why jump on someone when you don't know what's going on? Personally I think George Bush did it. I think he was in on the Lincoln assassination thing too.

Next time you are out riding with friends, swap bikes and ride in front and look at yours through the mirrors. Have your friend turn the motos on an off. You'll be amazed at difference in visibility. At night, they'll light up the roads sides quite nicely as well.

But, if I spend ANY more cash on farkles for the 'Bird this season my wife will throw me out and I'll be sleeping in that new tent of mine permanently!

I'm actually looking into them of course the black version... Could you make a pic about how they are fixed on the bike. Any issue mounting them or just straight foreward?

I am away on a bike trip without a camera so I can't post pics but the mounting is very simple . You remove the existing caliper bolt and mount the light with a supplied longer bolt.
On this trip when my friend rides ahead of me is amazed how visible the Birdd is. He says it's a night and day type difference.

That's because I went in and fixed them (I think there were a couple last week) . Like Thatch said it's an orphan /quote tag (that's for ending a quoted passage). If in doubt (or have another occasion), go quote a passage with the quote button and you can see how the start and end quote tags should be. Otherwise, it will eventually be seen and rectified ... no problem.
