Guess the migration had a few hickups. But I still think they did a good job.

Wait a day or so on posting the pictures. They aren't coming through yet since the changeover for some of us.

Hi guys im trying to wire my led spotties to my Storm and im confused on how to wire them to the aux switch?

All i have is a positive and negative wire from the leds and no relay/harness. Do i need to get a relay for this to work? Ive tried looking inside the light housing and just tested the spotties out... they work either on high beam or low beam only and the switch on the handlebar doesnt activate the leds.

What am i doing wrong.

Inside the headlight you should find a spare connector with three wires going to it, this is the one you want.

The three wires are ground (0V), 12V (not switched) and 12V (switched by the aux switch)

The black wire is ground and I can't remember what colour the other two are but you only need to the ground and the switched 12V lines.

No relay required but a mating connector would be handy or do what I did and remove the connector and splice the wires together as required.

If you don't know how much current your lights draw or just want to be safe, control a relay with the switched 12V line and pass the unswitched 12V through the relay to the lights; that's how Triumph handles their Aux/Fog Light bar (which hooks into that connector in the bucket).

Yeah there is no spare connector in either of the headlights... Just the 2 that control the high/low and the Parkers.

LED's tend to be very bright, so I recommend wiring them to be powered only when the high beam is on. That way you don't have to fumble around trying to dim two switches when suddenly faced with oncoming traffic. I did it this way and thereby saved the Aux switch for the aux lights which help the low beams a lot without being too bright for oncoming drivers.

Yeah I get that.. I've got a dimming switch that I plan to have them on low at night and full on during the day around town. I've got a set of the Kony 30w 3000lumen lights!!

No, you shouldn't need a relay for them, although it's a good idea. Worst case on a short circuit is that you'll blow a fuse. With the LED's, check the polarity, if it's wrong, they won't turn on. Also, check that you have a good ground and 12V at the lights.

Could I just wire them to the Parker lights? The LEDs would be a total of 5.2amps with a fuse In between?

Well I found a connector just above the radiator hoses. It's is purple, black and blue like the one in the pictures
Just how do I access it??
Would I have to lift the tank?

There's an open connector plug, for the aux. light switch on the bars, in the head light bucket and has those same colors. That's where I plugged the wires from my auxiliary lights into and they actually worked off the handle bar switch!! I did somethin right for a change!! Amazing, isn't it???

Yeah the storm must be different as there was no aux plug in the headlight buckets...I took off the horn and I was able to pull enough of the cable out. So I'll give that a try and see how I go.

You could be right about the harness being different in the headlight bucket[s] because the Storm uses two head lights instead of one,or, it could be possible that there would not be enough room on the front of the machine to add passing lamps,OR,because of the dual headlight system, adding passing lamps would over tax the charging system, which is what I'm thinkin right now.So that's somethin else ya might wanna think about,or inquire about, BEFORE you add the passin lamps.

Ok I found it!!!
The wiring that I thought was it was the heated hand grips aux...
So I had another look and pulled all the wiring out from under the steering/frame area and located it!!!
