It's true!! Heavy object jumped off garage shelf, and on its way to earth, struck my Tbird headlight. BUGGER!

So now I have a choice:
1. Leave it and not be happy.
2. Replace it with original from Triumph and hope I can afford it.
3. Put a different headlight on. This is where you guys come in.

I quite like the dual headlight on the Storm - but it's black.
What have others done?
Is it easy?

Help. Going for beer!

Neil

Replace it with the Speedmaster light. Its bigger and looks far better than the stock bird light. See SeanS's pics .

Mats correct... Bigger is better!

Simple enough change over as well.

To save confusion, snow has finally gone!

I like Sean's set-up.
Is the headlight a straight swap for the original? Where did you get yours from, new or a breakers? Also, Sean, I like your screen. Which one is it?
Sorry for all the questions.

If you want to keep the original look, Maybe someone that installed the factory headlight cowl would want to sell you their original headlight bucket which gets replaced when the cowl is installed.
Sorry but I want to keep mine.

If there's a T-bird in the garage then your either sick, broke or missing the time of your life.
Get out and ride that Bird.

The Tbird arrived June 26, 2009 - Speedy was traded in June for a 2012 Bonnie T100.

Hi Neil

Screen from Mike at Custom Cruisers UK Link
Its a National Cycle Flyscreen, which they used to make for Triumph but I can't find it on the Triumph website now.

The light is virtually a direct swap, just need to replace side light socket on new with two spades so no changes to TBird wiring. I was lucky, my dealer had one in stock that was ordered (deposit paid) but not collected so they let me have at cost (£180) think they are around £250 new. I had been looking on Flea bay for ages but nothing came up.

Regards

Sean

Sean,
Thanks for all the info. Not sure I can stretch to £250 at the moment, so may have to re-think the headlight. Somebody did suggest that perhaps someone out there has replaced their original headlight and might want to sell it on. If anyone (in the UK) is in this position, let me know how much you are thinking of, and perhaps we can do a deal. Might have to order that screen though, just don't tell her indoors, and perhaps she won't notice.

Thanks again Sean.

Neil

Sean, this headlight looks a lot bigger physically, .. would it be a better candidate for converting to the bi-Xenon/ HID or whatever it's called !! , would it store the ballast etc. better than the standard TBird ?

....any thoughts ?

Thanks
John

PS did you get the new Speedmaster one with the new "brite" fiinsh glass and interior .

PPS Sean is your screen dark or light tint ?
