I saw that you asking this same question over on RAT and just got a sarcastic reply from Dru. Obviously, the regular Thunderbird screen probably isn't gonna work because of the dual headlights and it's doubtful Triumph will make one because they're marketing the Storm as more of a street-fighter. National Cycle may have something that would fit, but email Fast Eddy and ask him: eddy@fasteddysports.com

What is the out board dimensions from side to side near the back end of the headlamps?

Looking at the Triumph photo which is too small to really zoom in it would appear that Nationals screens which have a rather wide area for headlight accommodation (more than enough for the Thunderbird, MAY accommodate the Storms duallies since where the actual point for the screen is further back on the headlight in normal circumstances.

The fork spread should be the same as the Thunderbird.

By appearance alone, I think that the Deflector screens would be an easy fit allowing plenty of room for the buckets and I think the lines would be good on it.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Eddy,

I don't actually have my bird yet. If/when I get a storm I'll measure up the headlights. I saw a storm at the dealer for the first time the other day and the headlamps are quite different from the other birds. Much more shallow and simple housing. They looked to me to be the same as on the Street Triple. I do agree that by the looks of things the deflector may have the best lines to compliment the dual lamp setup on the Storm. I'm either going to get the Silver Bird or a flat black Storm...I'll be ordering a few goodies from you for sure when I do.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Rocket III (the one with the twin lamps) screen will fit!?!?
Here's some examples:

The wind vest will work and not take away the bad ass look of your bike.Yes it is minimal ,but it does the job.The smoked glass with black hardware would be just the ticket.

Also keep in mind that changing the bottom of a plexiglass screen is a pretty easy thin to do.

Just had a site member participate in a test and the National Cycle Deflector screen is confirmed to fit.

Thanks Jeff for testing this, feel free to give your performance evaluation and comments.

Installation went much better than expected. eddy and i traded pictures, measurements and dwgs for a week to make sure weren't on a fools errand. the deflector fit perfectly. i like the way if frames the headlights. the tint matches the bike and keeps the texas sun from reflecting off the road and blinding me.
no modifications required and you get the full range of adjustment. i'm still playing with it, but there don't seem to be any buffeting issues.
the is the third national switchblade i've had. they are the best in my opinion

yea she's all mine. i actually had to convince the dealer that the storm could be had in matte. i decided to try it since my buddies fat bob never seems to look dirty. unless i drive through mud, it always looks good. now with the windshield, i can drive it like i stole it and not worry about the wind blowing me off the bike

hey Jeff
a couple of questions if I may
- how easy is the screen to get on and off, looks like a simple clamp on the fork tubes - is that right? I ask as it look really handy for longer rides but I'd probably take it off for day to day riding.
- How tall are you, i was interested if the wind will pass over me, or if I will suffer buffeting I'm 6" 1'

cheers

Ian

the screen is a switchblade. it is designed to be on/off in about 3 seconds. the mounting brackets on the forks remain, whether the ws is installed or not, but they are pretty and no one notices them. the beauty of the system is that national sells three or four different height shields. all fit the same mounting. on my other bike, i use a chopped shield in the summer and a larger 2-up for winter. like you, depending on the weather i remove the screen for around town riding. couldn't be simpler.

i am a rangy 5' 11"
no offense, but aren't you a little short to be riding a man's bike? (6"?)

Do they make a screen to fit the Harley fat bob with dual headlamps? I like the thought of a flyscreen sort of like the shields for the rocket, where the bottom is cut to outline the dual lamps.

It may fit, but have a look how they are attached - directly to the lamps. So my guess would be that you have to fabricate a holder/bracket or use one that fits the bird... I did look at it, but did not follow it further...
I did indeed order a Flyscreen from Eddy and will mod it to have what you like and also I do. Modelling it around the twin head lights.

Look at fab's bird - Search in the forum for "12 t-birds". He's the originator of the idea.

yes i have fabed up a lower part that attaches to the flyscreen and fits in with the twin headlights.
my first copy was a rush job(only had two hours till i left for bathurst) so i have some being made by a company that does laser cutting, they should look very neat and they are made from mirror stainless 1.5mm plate.
once i have them i will fit one and post photos and then let the bidding begin

G'day trdutch,
Could you please tell me what size Windvest that is on your bike ?

And could you possibly post some more photos from different angles ?
I think the windvest is the way I might end up going.

Thanks

Woody

Hey Woody,
Ill take some more shots today when I get a chance.
The size on my bike is the 16" (14" wide) I am 5'10' ish and the top of the Windvest is about nose level.
My line of vision is not restricted and and the unit basically performs as advertised. It blocks the wind without being a focal point on the bike. Also I wear glasses and if I take a short ride without goggles It was almost impossible to see in regular glasses because my eyes would tear so badly ,( hey, the bike has almost 100 horsepower) the wind vest has solved that problem for me.No more tears (hey there is no crying in motorcycleling or was that baseball?)
Anyway I think the Vest is the way to go if you don't want a windshield but need something, and in my case it ended up doing more than I expected. Dutch
