Wow, you've owned your 1700 for a year and you JUST joined our little group? We must not be THAT great a bunch of guys!
Anyway, check out Fast Eddy's Luggage Page for Thunderbird He's one of us, is a pleasure to deal with, has great prices, and has a pretty decent selection of goodies for the 'Bird.

I would like to find a decent windshield bag too, seems a lot of them are to small or to big to fit, may have to have one custom made.

The inside crossbar is too low for a windshield bag. I have tried all types with no luck. I do have the deuce risers on my bike and then you can mount a fork tool back to the risers. Works well.

Maybe he'll weigh in and point us in the right direction. I've already got a fork bag but it's full. Just need a little more space so I can ride without the tail bag sometimes. I'll just keep looking I guess.

Exactly. Also, I'd like to be able to reveal the logo on the hardware to the front rather than cover it. I considered going to a local leather guy for a custom design job but my budget aint that rich...

Waht kind of seat is that on the picture, where can I get more details on that? Anybody knows a good site for T-Bird rookies like me, wanted to start to individualize the bike? Cheers Hickhock

Link They also make a solo seat for the bird as well as other accessories. The seat I have does not work with the factory sissy bar. It is too short so beware of that. They seem to have quality products but their customer support is awful. I have been trying to get them to do something about this since last fall. Welcome to the forum

As for the windshield bag, National Cycle makes the screens for Triumph. I am going to do a test fit with engage to make sure that it will fit with the Triumph Screen so you won't have to guess. It will take a week or so so please be patient and I'll get you the no guess answer.

I just ordered up one of these to test out, I think that it may address the lower mounting issue as that is what it is specifically for. Will let you know how it works.

I am using windshield bag which has a rotating lid clasp for easy operation. It has a price range of $90.99.

Hi Eddy,
I have a Tourmaster windshield/tool bag on mine. It works OK and only cost a little over $20.00.
The straps go around the windshield brace and don't show too much. The attachment lets you hang it from the forks as a tool bag or do like I did and put it behind the windshield.
It holds a lot of stuff.

I looked for several weeks and then found a gem from a guy in Anchorage. It was a 9" by 5" by about 3". And, this is the kicker, had the words Triumph Motor Cycles embossed in the heavy gauge leather with a really nice snap closure. He bought it a few years ago from a dealer in St Louis and still looked brand new. Still toying with how to affix it to the Roadster screen.

He's been messing with leather for years but I figured that leather would have to have some additional support to maintain it's shape so I never considered asking him to attempt making anything for the bike. Luckily I stumbled upon a material called kydex. It's a plastic that can be heated and molded. Well that was the answer as for as giving the leather some additional support. Anyway. I came up with a design built a mold and he provided the craftsmanship. I've got the phantom red haze bird so we went with black leather red stitching and a red t-bird logo. I molded a kydex attachment that snaps around the bar and we used quick release buckles. Here's, some pics
