Has anyone seen a dyno comparison of The Thunderbird stock exhaust and the TOR's. Speaking to Triumph, I was told they don't do dyno testing. They said to expect a 3 to 5 hp gain with the TORs but didn't know what change there would be for torque.

If I'm not mistaken the 'propaganda advertising' states 3 to 5 more horses - but I believe that is also in conjunction with a High Flow Air Filter.

Unfortunately I too have not seen a Dyno test of the STOCK vs. TORs + Filter.
Would be interesting...

i predicted 3 HP by my butt dyno, so i guess i have a pretty accurate ass!!!

Looks like I won't be doing my Dyno runs till next week. My pipes won't be in till Tuesday.

Well haven't done the dyno check, but here are the sound clips I did with the stock pipes with cat/Tor's with the cat/ and Tor's without the cat. The Tor's without the Cat are Very,Very LOUD. At cruising speed the are ok but get on the throttle and they'll knock a small child over. So I put the cat back on and went for another ride. Much better, loud but nice and I'm sure they'll get a little louder as time goes on. The only difference I noticed with my seat of the pants dyno was the noise. Couldn't feel any significant difference at low end or top end in throttle responce. Should have the dyno readings on the stock and Tor's next week. I did feel a definite difference between those two rides. Link Link Link No that's not smoke coming from my pipes. It's vapor, it was about 34 out at the time.

i have done the exact same thing a few weeks back on the other forum, with the TOR and decat its so loud when you even touch the throttle, i loved it but the decel popping was to much, i may try again once Tuneboy is available so i can sort out the lean on overrun

here is mine

I couldn't believe how loud it was with the cat removed. With it in it brings it down enough to be a good sound, but as far as performance I couldn't see a difference. I wonder if Thatch's BC pipes are that loud in real life. It's hard to tell some times with the clips.

Sounds like you were louder than mine with the BC pipes. At idle the volume is just barely louder than stock (throatier). At constant throttle cruising again the tone is much better but the volume is very mild. There seems to be 3 stages to the BC pipes on the road, mild even throttle = throaty rumble; moderate acceleration = angry barking; hard acceleration = prison raped gorilla (ok that's a bit of an over statement, hard throttle is certainly significantly louder but doesn't come close to a straight pipe bike, much less an actual sodomized gorilla, mountain or low land)

You're right it is hard to tell by any video. Hopefully the direct comparison at the end is the most easily telling part of the video. The actual sound won't carry through completely, but the comparison should be fairly true.

I would say your description also fits the TOR's Idle and steady speeds good but going the the gears and hard throttle, the ape thing fits. I'm glad I have the option to go either way. As I get deafer I'll go back to the bypass.
