Something tells me you're well past that point my friend.

maybe the dual headlamps are completed as well

Careful, don't want to go too far. Next time we see you're bike she'll be looking like this...

RIDE IT!

But with snow on the roads - there's no chance of that!

But seriously - things still to do:

- Oil pressure & temp gauges
- Custom colour
- Rizoma hand grips

But I have to sell one of the kids first to get the money!

Hey you didn't mention what you (or they) did to get the badge curve sorted. It looks to me like it matches up great but I'm wondering what was done. Did the tape have to be replaced? Details

I seriously doubt it. More likely to get a "Customer of the Year" award over there.

Actually I'm waiting for the left side badge - they only had 1 right side in on stock!
Don't worry I'll ask tomorrow - maybe the dual headlamps are completed as well

Just tumbled upon this thread. Birdy your Bird is incredible!

Was wondering how the paint is holding up the badge?

Like this option the best. Was thinking about matching the background to the blue of my Bird and doing like you did for the white . How did you prep it for the paint? Did you clear coat the colors after? What kind of paint did you use?

Sorry for all the questions but what you did looks great!

If it helps I used birdies idea with the blue. I went to a model shop and got a close enough blue enamel and a cream for the lettering. I used a cotton bud with white spirit to make sure there was no oil residue ect and used a generous amount of paint to give a good thick covering whiping the chrome clean to get a good edge. I then use a clear varnish when it was all dry .

Dru,

Thanks for your info! How is it holding up?

Also, how did you get yours to shape to the bike?

I tried a hair drier and that didnt do a lot so I put it in the oven @ 120 for 5 minutes . Its quite time consuming getting the right shape but u get there eventualy. Dont forget to use oven gloves or similar when takeing the badge out of the oven.

You can also try boiling it... worked great for me. And yes, mitts are essential!

Also, don't skimp on the double-sided tape. Go to your local body shop (or a body shop supplier, if you've got one in your area) and get the good automotive quality 3M adhesive tape. I'd also recommend the 3M adhesive adhesion promoter (comes as wipes).
