Ben,

I think member Daz has these pipes (actually the short ones). I am not sure if anyone else has fitted them (perhaps they can chime in ...?).
In case you did not know, these pipes are also called TOR's (Triumph Off Road - because they are not exactly legal, they are for "off-road" use only ) .

I am not sure but I think that these bikes in the launch videos have TOR pipes.

Actually i have the long ones. That video sounds more like the stock ones but it's hard to tell for sure. It's definatly not a good evaluation. The TORs basically sound like the stock ones when at idle or cruise, but under acceleration is where they got louder. But not real loud at all. Just enough to make them heard. they seem to add a little power, probably 2-4 HP from what it seems like via butt dyno.

I have the long TORs and like them... a lot. They are mild... almost stock-like... at idle or low RPM. However, when you goose it, they have a very pleasing report. Not ungodly loud... but nice.

Bonsoir Ben,

Birdy68 has them too and he is happy with them I believe. So there are already several members who have them on the bike and like them.
Looks you will be next ?

When I first started with the forum I did not know what TOR meant but as explained above it is the "high flow exhaust".
Maybe that is why you thought nobody had these ? They refer to it way different than on the Triumph accessory website.

I guess the best way to determine if you want tors w/o actually hearing them in person is this....if your only concern is getting some pipes that are louder and meaner than stock but no where near like those loud harleys, these may be perfect for you. they are considerably louder than stock, but most others are MUCH louder than stock. So for those who just want a bit more volume and thats thier only copncern, these are your pipes. And the price is cheaper than any of the aftermarket ones. By the way, i wonder if thunderbike will be making some for the Tbird. Thats what i had on my speedy and many agreed the sound was some of the best, volume was right in the middle, and power gains were better than most and as good as any. They were expensive tho and the chrome wasn't great.

ia m sure they will make some, but i would never buy a set of non stainless pipes again. had those on my america and they only held up for 5 years because i took very good care of them, they still started rusting tho

Yeah, i've heard that. I was lucky because i live in an area thats not cold wet or salty. But the chrome wasn't near as good as on my tors.

Ben - as DVR stated - I REALLY do love them. Seriously. And as others have said:
- At idle and steady throttle they are as sweet as a lamb. But start aggravating the throttle and a wolf steps out of the lambs coat, giving his thunderous bark!

BTW - I also have a GREEN High Performance Air Filter (High Flow). This filter WITH the TORs gives me the impression that the bike is MUCH more responsive - very sharp.
Put it this way - when I rode the dealers demo bike again, it felt like there was a rag stuck in the air intake & exhaust or something like that!

Regarding the level of the sound: I was a little worried - but I specifically stopped at a police control here in Switzerland to ask a silly question - the police officer was helpful and didn't say anything about the pipes and their sound.
On another occasion I was greeted by a Stadtpolizei (town police) and he loved the sound (but I didn't tell him they were the TORs!

Ben - my dealer had to import them from the UK - I don't know why? Also - on the underside of the pipes it states:
"NOT FOR RAOD USE - Blah... blah... blah..."

Interesting... My TOR's Part number - A9600301 is NOT the same as the one you have included in the screen shot?

I haven't bought any other pipes yet and there are more companies coming out with their versions, most of them are a little to alot more expensive. I'm trying to get some hard numbers from triumph to compare torque and hp between the stock and TOR's. If those numbers are as good as some of the other pipes, they would be the best buy.
