Maybe it wasn't tuneecu, but if it is, does anyone know how? I looked thru tune ecu and couldn't find anything that looks like that.

After checking it then what? Does it just start automatically and notify you when done or what? Doubt anyone knows....guess i'll be the first to try this huh?
EDIT: Gee, you're all so friggin talkative...shut the hell up, you're killin my ears here ! Well anyway, just in case anyone IS interested, i asked at that monster tuneecu thread at RAT and one guy who seem familiar with the 12 minute tune told me 1)-using the adaption reset in tuneecu is not much if any faster than the idle and wait procedure. And 2)- and this one was interesting and gave me a lot of hope for tomorrow when i try the 12MT with the seat duct removed. In relation to the 12MT he said....
The system is quite capable of making fairly wide changes and I have seen good results with a wide range of changes to intake and exhaust. In my experience the only advantage of using Triumphs alternative maps are when a change to the timing map is necessary. |

Let's not get too far afield from what Adaption is. It's all about the O2 sensors. That's it. It's trying O2 Sensor readings and matching to other conditions it sees. Jackrabbit starts vs Grandma. Also, base altitude, and most important, that they are aligned other sensors . Pressure, Throttle position, coil charge and fire, crank shaft position, etc. I think there are 12 sensors and 7 actuators (things it does on it's own)
It's about the emissions in closed loop and the transition to what they call off idle, which is open loop. It's all in the SM. What is it for? SM 10.116. "...the system is able to learn and adapt....without needing to constantly make major adjustments from a fixed baseline setting."
Now, specifically about "reset adaption." The official Diag Tool has this also. As described in the SM. These adaption tables can be troubleshooting aids in certain cases, which I described in another thread. So, you can wipe the table do some tests, read the tables.
But, in no way does that substitute for the 12 min. In fact, the diag tool can let the ECU run a quick, 5 min. but not as a substitute.
So, doing these mods, you lower the pressure and velocity in the aribox, so a 12 min should be run if you find that starting and idle is no so easy.
EDIT: you raise the pressure and lower the velocity

not sure who it was on here but recently a comment was made regarding the capability of the system to cope with differing situations relative to the breadth of the injector feed rates.
also it could explain why the mix is fairly similar in the maps but timings arnt.
im hoping to get to have a go with tuneecu soon. buying my cable tomorrow

I'd say it's running a little stronger. You know how there are days they seem to run a bit under the weather, then some where they seem real strong? well, now it seems like that real strong day is it's normal demeanor. Not a big difference, but nice arm pulling power at it's best. I wouldn't be surprised it it bumped it up 1 to 3 HP from before i dumped the break in oil for synth and did the 12MT.
