Griff, and welcome

If you're going for the shorties then look into getting a high performance air filter too
And as DizzE said - YES, you will be best served with a new map loaded.

Various setups i suppose would vary on how much difference the proper map would be. But let me tell you about my experience, and if yours would be anything like it you very well better map it ! I got tors and rode it for a week without having the map changed. The bike rode like crap. Weak, pathetic. Got the map a week later and it ran great again. That was with the long tors, and they gave me no improvment in power. But they redesigned the innards i believe because now people are saying they do, and i noticed the part number on the new long tors was changed. In any case, i got a set of short tors after that and they gave ma a considerble boost in power. Very very nice. But w/o the TORs map you won't get that, and it could possibly be worse than stock. As birdy said, also get a performance filter. that helps too, but most of all it's reusable so you can clean it every so often and always have peace of mind that your bike isn't running a bit off due to the filer being clogged. I prefer the UNI filter at about $28, but if you don't mind patung the $80 or so for the triumph one, it's the same thing but the foam is removable from the cage making it much easier to clean and dry is you want to use it right away after washing. It's quite a bit more, so you have to decide whether it's worth it to you. But in any case get a reusable performance filter, and definately get the tors map. By the way, if you go to tuneecu.com you can download the application by the same name that will allow you to map it yourself if you buy a $10-15 cable. then you can connect a laptop to the bike and use tuneecu to load the proper map, which you can also get o the tuneecu site.
