I never mentioned this....just forgot to. And i haven't heard anyone else mention it so i wonder if most didn't find the same thing I did. But with all the talk about popping i thought i would just mention that after the BB kit my bike stopped popping. It will do a very very slight amount if i really wind it up and let off at very high RPM's, but during most all normal or spirited riding there is zero popping. Do others with the BB notice this or are you still popping? even with the seat duct off i get none. And while i kinda liked the popping at first, i got real tired of it after a while so i'm glad it mo longer does it.

Well to answer your question Daz - actually my 'Bird is still popping!
Even louder now the TORS are burnt in!

I like it though - so I'm happy about it.

I never had a huge popping issue. I think it stayed mostly the same after the BB install. I can't recall at this point though. I think that a lot of the difference in level of decel pop have to do with altitude and humidity as much as anything else. Or maybe I'm smokin' crack. I have no idea

mine has a good amount of popping, but i think it could also be due to the bc pipes. it does change with weather tho.

What pipes would they be? I have short tors and still no popping. My tune by the way is the one that ends in 310. Could be some who got the BB much earlier than me have an older tune that's leaner and therefore pops more i suppose.

Mine pops but not excessivly . Just the right amount hehehe. So does my brothers . We have short TOR 's too. I guess we might not have the most recent tune though Daz.

Mine (1600 + Tors) used to pop on de-excel (and to be honest I quite liked it).

Anyway - just had the 10,000 km service and the crackle/pop has almost stopped?

Havn't had a chance to see if they loaded a new tune - or if they tightened up the muffler connections (to stop any air leaks)

Mine (1600 + shorties) used to pop like a good 'un till I fitted the high flow filter and did a bit of an air intake mod. Now there is hardly and decel popping - just a bit of muffled internal type popping. I liked the popping but I like the extra power I got a lot more.

I was just thinking.....has anyone with tuneecu gone into thier map and unchecked the SAI box and noticed any change? I think the 310 map which i have has AI enabled. Kinda odd if it does because you'd think i'd have popping with AI enabled, plus it's been said they have never had AI enabled on any model from the beginning and don't even have AI hardware on the recent ones.

By the way, to anyone who wants to check or uncheck that or any of the check boxes in the maps, you can't just check or uncheck them.. It doesn't work. You have to RIGHT click them and then you can check them. You'll see what i mean when u try it.

Yup...tried it at the dyno shop. Ran awful. We tried a lot of combos and ended up best to have my O2 sensors off and SAI on.

So, I don't know. I tried it. O2 on SAI off. But, I never have had "popping."

FWIW, since I have been running Shell V Power , the popping has virtually disappeared.

what are the results of the 02 sensors off as far as both performance and any issues?

DizzE... if you're not "running" the O2 sensors, they should really be removed and plugs used instead... unless you never intend to run them again... even if selling. Over a short timeframe, they will be ruined for further use.

Yeah, i did think of that. Although, I believe I just told the ECU to ignore them. I know what you are talking about,
but, AFAIK, if they are still powered and heated they'll be OK. But, big IF.
