Hi folks anyone with the TBars know the width please. Dont want them any wider than the stocks as that would meen less manouverablility through traffic.

Cheers

Triumph states that the Tbars are ergonomically the same. I believe this is true if you turn the standard bars to the same angle.

Anyway, I measured my Tbars and they are about 34.5 inches or 88 cm. I measured my old stock bars and they are an inch less, but that's without the bar ends so I think they are the same.

Hey Druid

Go for it, Looks better than stock I raised mine slightly by purchasing a short piece of chrome bar the same diameter and cut off 2 pieces 30mm long, bored out the centre to the bolt size ( 10mm I think ) and scored some longer bolts. You can't go to much as cable lengths limit this. I didn't use the harness guides there the wrong size so you need some rubber on the inside and my cables are too short now.

The bars are a bit higher and back a smidge....I also cut out a new spacer plate and had it chromed to compliment the join. All up cost about 60 bucks...

Does this modification allow you to tilt up the tank on it's rear hinge now?
Or are you still required to remove the hinge bolt and remove the tank to get underneath?

Vertical pieces are not welded straight and does not align correctly with the plate that should be installed to upper triple tree. So, something has to be smacked around to make them fit or I just return them and ask the dealer to order new bars.

Thats not too good. Even if you DID 'strain' them to get them in, I wouldn't feel happy knowing that hidden forces are at work.

A nice friendly talk with your dealer is called for.

Keep us posted.

They must be getting them made in China now.

No it still will not clear the risers, I tied the tank up with a thin piece of rope to the bars and allowed me to pass the new HID power cable
through without removing the tank

If mine are screwed its the dealers problem as they are fitting them along with the mirrors and replacing the forks .

Like the riser idea very unique.

I see now. Yup, time for a new set - wouldn't want to weaken the welds by bending them.

ah helll, just stick a broomstick inside the riser pipes and tweak them stratight. worst that can happen is they come off while driving... or when pulling back on them to back oiut of a parking spot..

Could be that the 2 risers ARE straight but that one may be slightly shorter or the T bar is not straight. Put a straightedge across the bottoms of the risers where they screw on. They may well be level with each other and if they are, then as long as they for from hole to hole then there is no stress issue. I would still return them because the T bar would not be perfect so the bar ends would be at slightly different heights or front to back. But there would be no stress if thats the case. I imagine that is too because they probably weld them while in a jig that holds the risers perfectly in the proper relationship so theres no problem fitting them.

It seems, the risers are welded on the wrong spots. I tried to put the chrome plate on with bolts and it fits if attached very carefully. I believe, the guy who made them is not too worried about the quality of his work. It sickens me to see someone with such a little proud of his work. Eventually it shows somewhere....

Text must be filled with typos but you guys must forgive. I've just came from Poland (Gdansk) where we spent 3 days with 9 of my friends drinkin' and beeing stupid Can't remember last time I've had such a good trip and Gdansk is just so beautiful city it makes my home town look like crap.

These are the photos i sent to my dealer back in february :
(Don't mind the Finnish words in pictures. Those are written to clarify the case to my dealer)

Today they called and told that BB-kit conversion is done and new set of t-bars have arrived. I went to pay for the kit and installation and picked up the bars. Well.....got back home and opened the package....and.....either they packed the previous bars very nicely and hand it over to me again or there are some serious issues with the jig that manufacturer is using. They are bent exactly the same way the previous ones were....

When I get my bike back, I'll install these and see how much it bothers me when attached to bike.

Edit : Had to check that 'vino' (means : 'not in line' in finnish) does not mean the same that 'wino' in english In the other hand, wino would be very suitable word to describe the welder of these bars...
