Hi Guys, So I got the triumph dresser bars, fitted the front yesterday no problem, but the rear bars..well...the set screws supplied for the fitting to the top shocker fixing I found were too long by thre eigths of an inch, they bottomed out in the top fixing, leaving the dresser bar and finisher flapping about...sooo after hacksawing a quater inch or so off of the screw , in she goes only to run out of thread on the screw, it has a quater inch or so plain unthreaded shaft of it..if you get my drift, so I was just wondering if any one else had this problem ??..
Of course I will be contacting Triumph on Monday, but as I say was just wondering ..

Regards
Alan

I will answer my own question here, just checked with a dealer here and apparently the screws supplied with the kit are indeed too long .. ,

becareful if you are reducing the bolt length, as there is part unthreaded shaft and you could run out of thread
new full threaded bolts are about 10p from a car acessory shop

My dealer contacted Triumph and was told that the bolts were in case you were installing some additional accessory also. That I should use the original......seems like they would be short and they had a locking compound on them......and there is no additional accessory that you can buy that I know that attaches to that point-Ive got almost everything they sell!

I think they had great people design a great bike and they desgined in another building great accessories and when they got together at the end of the process they said opps......I mean over 70 steps to install the accessory lights and they send a replacement horn with the front dresser bars?????

Still love my SE-fastest color they make!

Hi JFT
What a bloody stupid thing to tell the dealer / you, so what if you were not going to fit this phantom accessory ??, and yes same here, getting bits to beat the tax increase planned for this January coming ,

I placed a comment on Triumphs Facebook page, it seems a guy at the M`bike exhibition saw what I said about the bolts being too short, and is arranging or has arranged for the correct bolts to be sent to me.

LOL regarding that fricken useless replacement horn, be far better of to shout ""BEEP"" as and when required, I am too embarrased to use it , I feel a set of Air Horns coming on ...got somewhere to put them now

Cheers and Beers

Alan

You can use the stock horn with a little twisting here and there. Same place...just reduced, but adequate, clearance.
